Description:

1965 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Standard

This is a good working VW Bus. It's got a 1600cc single port motor. Mostly stock with electronic ignition. It's got a doghouse oil cooler. It's got a good 4 speed transmission with stock reduction box rear axel. On top is an HWE style full length rack with matching ladder. Up front is a Hurst bumper from Project VW in Oregon. The safari front windows are from Wolfgang International. The steering wheel is a restoration by Bob Koch in CA. The rear bench was custom made and folds out into a bed. Underneath the bench are tools and spare parts included like fuel pump, distributor, carburetor. alternator and many other small parts. The rear lights have been upgrade to LED. It has three lap belts in the rear and two shoulder belt (aftermarket install) three point belts. The front brakes have been upgraded to disc brakes by AC Industries. The tires are General grabber at2 27x8.5r14 with about 20k miles on them. Included is a divider panel to keep the heat up front in the cab for cold trips. The heat and heater controls do work and all the heat is funneled up to the front of the bus. The windshield wiper works on the drivers side. Included is a kinetic rope for pulling stuck vehicles out or getting pulled out. Inside the panels are Baltic birch. All 6 pop out windows work and close tight. Included are curtains for all the windows and a cover that goes around the front windows on the outside for camping. There are battery powered LED Strips that go the length of the bus on the inside near the roof. Included is a President Bill CB Radio and Antenna. On the rack is a RotoPax Gas Cans storage mount and included is a 2 gallon RotoPax plastic gas container. The nose of the bus had been replaced long before I owned it probably from a front end collision. The driver's side door doesn't close great and is a little crooked. The wiring harness is a new replacement from Wolfsburg West. You just have to slam it. The paint is all original patina except the front nose which I painted to match the rest of the bus. There is a spare tire behind the front seat. The turn signal return isn't working on the column. It's an easy fix just haven't messed with it. The steering box leaks a little up front mainly because I added too thin of a fluid. There are 4 mud flaps all around and a period correct side step. I can send more photos if needed. The previous owner replaced the cargo floors and the rocker panels. I welded in a new battery tray. There are small holes in the front floor but they are real small and not growing or rot. It's registered as antique and only needs registration every 5 years in Texas.
