Good day and for thanks looking!!

For sale is our 1987 Jetta GL Wolfsburgh Edition.

Below I will list everything I know about the car, and things that I have personally done to really make it “stand out” in a classy fun type way. A

In my narrative, I will address relevant information to the best of my ability and knowledge.

1st off the car has been in my family for many years, and is still used as a daily driven vehicle.

It has been a great car and never left anyone stranded.

The car is extremely mechanically sound. Starts every single time without hesitation. I think if you know anything about the mk2 VW’s they are a pretty bombproof

Chassis; but with that, comes some quirky little things that “keep them going”. They are also super fun and easy to work on. Parts are also fairly readily available.

The transmission shifts smooth. No issues, speedometer works.

There are zero abnormal noises that come from the car whatsoever.

This does not mean a thorough tune-up for the new owner wouldn’t be in order. I think a car of this age needs some love and attention, it would also get you to understand the vehicle a tad because it’s pretty neat. They are quirky and fun!

The brakes and rotors are brand new. Rear drums in the back. New shocks springs struts. New battery 2023. New axles 2023. New headlights.

The car does “tick”, upon start-up, for a fraction of a second, you can hear the oil lube the cylinders instantly, every Volkswagen I’ve ever owned has done this, and my mechanic says it’s normal.

The radio intermittently works, the lights go on, when the headlights are on, but the unit is NOT reliable. I contemplated fixing it, but I figured I would let the new owner decide what their preference in music platform is. You can buy a vintage looking unit with blue tooth for roughly $150 bucks with harness.

In the five years I’ve owned the car (although my family much longer), I have added roughly 6k problem free miles to the car. I have done my best to make it esthetically pleasing and cool as I’ve always used it as a beach car.

The “Jetta” decal may be easily removed, as I thought they are a cool addition and they always get compliments.

The car has minimal exterior rust, nearly none, just one tiny “bubble”, which I will make certain I capture in pictures. It’s smaller than a dime. Other than that it is a rust free Florida car. I would also like to add that the car has been repainted. I would rate the paint job an 8. Im also very picky. But it shines up extremely nice, and I’ve hand washed it all the years I’ve owned it. There is something to be said about a car of this age and how you wash them. *never in a car wash:) *the stickers on the side hide minimal surface rust around the window trim. Another “touch”

I added. It’s a local surf shop here in Florida.

When I acquired the car years ago, the odometer read 92k miles. About a year ago the odometer stopped at 98k. The vehicle will be sold TMU. The odometer is a coin toss, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. The speedometer works perfectly.

The wheels alone are true BBS wheels, although not perfect, just alone cost me $1800 without tires. AND They are wrapped in brand new tires with stickers still on them that I just had installed. The date stamps on the tires are 2023.

The interior car is super clean. Minor wear, buttons etc. but I have done everything in my power make this a solid, sound, nice looking car. I can’t say there are no strategically placed zip ties, but is is a very fine example of what it is. This is confirmed nearly every time I take it out for a drive:) it ls a head turner, and so fun to drive.

Pros:

New shocks/struts

New brakes/rotors

New plugs & distributor cap

New battery

Tires/wheels

A/C blows cold

Heat works great

New front axles

Brake lines

Cons:

Small cracks in dashboard (very minimal)

The car needs an interior door card. The passenger rear. I have all hardware, but am just having a difficult time finding the actual cardboard piece. Widows and everything work flawlessly. No leaking.

The windshield does not leak at all and has NO cracks, however the in the lower part of the windshield the glienis visable. But no seal has been compromised. It in no way effects the performance of the car. As it is in the very bottom corners of the windshield, and is 100% out of sight and weather tight.

Tiny oil leak (as they all do).

Small (fixed) crack in windshield wiper reservoir.

The radio issue:)

My son ran in to the car with his bike, the passenger side door, as you can see. I’m pretty certain this could be fixed by paintless dent remover (PDR) None of the paint is chipped, broken or creased and Conveniently it’s the same door that needs a door card so any body shop could do this easily because it’s already accessible and ready to be pulled/fixed There are no cracks or creases in paint.

Everything in the car works phenomenally for a car its age and looks even better. AC blows cold heat blows hot.

The car is a specimen.

For an additional $750 bucks I can have it delivered ANYWHERE on the east coast, once payment clears and overnight title/keys. I will NOT travel west on TN.

Thanks again!!
