1974 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

This 1974 Volkswagen Type 2 Westfalia is a pop-top camper that is finished in orange with white bumpers over an orange plaid interior. It is powered by a 1.8-liter flat-four mated to a three-speed automatic transaxle. Recent work has consisted of cleaning the heater boxes as well as replacing window and door seals, the valve cover gaskets, rear brake shoes and pads, and the brake master cylinder and also a rebuild of the torque converter and transmission reseal.
White-painted steel 14” wheels wear polished VW hubcaps and are mounted with Hankook Vantra LT tires. KYB front and Sachs rear shocks have been installed, in addition to a Cofap steering damper and a replacement drag link.

The interior features seats that have been fitted with replacement foam padding and reupholstered in orange plaid cloth along with matching orange door panels and carpeting and the curtains were all ordered from Germany for exact fit.

A replacement steering wheel frames instrumentation that consists of a 90-mph speedometer, a fuel-level gauge, various warning lights, and an oil temperature gauge.

The rear cabin features woodgrain paneling, a fold-away table, an orange plaid rear bench seat that folds flat, and patterned window curtains. Additional equipment includes removable rear mosquito netting, a front child’s cot, a sink, and a dual burner stove with a propane tank. The refrigerator has been removed and converted to cabinet space.

The air-cooled 1.8L flat-four is equipped with dual two-barrel carburetors,and equipment includes an electric fuel pump, PerTronix electric ignition. The push rod tubes have been resealed, a valve adjustment was performed, and the vacuum hoses, valve cover gaskets have been replaced.

Noted imperfections include a crease running from the rear apron to the left quarter panel as well as warping around the front nose and fiberglass pop top roof.
