Vehicle Details1966 Bahama Blue Classic Volkswagen Beetle with Black interior and 1300cc engine. Car spent most of its life covered in El Paso, TX and has no major rust. Upholstery and Paint have been redone with original colors and are in mint condition. Electrical system was updated from 6v to 12v with electronic ignition, alternator, and light bulbs. Rubber seals on windows, doors, and front trunk are in good condition. When a door is being closed it helps to crack a window because of pressure in the cab. Vent windows on both doors fully hinge in and out and latch with air-tight seal. In the summer of 2022 brakes were gone through; all pads, wheel cylinders, and rubber hoses checked and replaced if needed and master cylinder was replaced. The car brakes strong, straight, and evenly. Additionally in summer of 2022 the fuel system was gone through; gas tank replaced, all rubber hoses and filter replaced, and carburetor rebuilt. Battery, tires, and Transaxle Boots were also replaced in the summer of 2022. AM radio in the dash works great. This Beetle is in great working order and has no know mechanical or electrical issues. All the numbers on the pan, body, and engine match. Having spent its life in the desert with regular maintenance over the years this is not your typical worn-out bug with a fresh paint job and interior. The odometer reads 48,100 miles and when driving the car, it is obvious that the drivetrain, powertrain, and interior are tight. There are no rattles or vibrations, and it sails down a bumpy road with ease. The rear bumper has a small crease in the center which will be replaced as soon as one comes available. No evidence of a major collision is present anywhere on the body. The paint has some light wear on hinges, deck lid and trunk lids from normal use.My grandmother owned this car for the last 40 years and it has been a tough decision to sell it. However, we already have too many cars that don’t get driven often enough; so, it’s time to pass this one along to someone that will enjoy it. If you’re looking for a beetle as a daily driver or a weekend toy, this car is a perfect candidate. Knowing this car’s history, I can say with certainty that it is about as clean as an original 1966 beetle can be. Its ready to go with no additional work. Drive it off the trailer, start running errands or go cruise the beach.The car is located in San Angelo, TX for showing and test drive. Delivery is available with a fee of $1.70 per mile one way. $500 deposit and full shipping cost due up front. Could realistically be driven cross-country if desired.
