Vehicle Details1978 Volkswagen Super Beetle ConvertibleTHE GOOD:This Super Beetle has recently undergone a partial restoration. The Exterior top is brand new and the interior top (headliner) is in good condition.The interior is in great condition with all new TMI Basket Weave Seat Covers, TMI Door Panels, ACC Cutpile Carpet, a Fiberglass Dash Pad, and an Alpine Stereo with Alpine Speakers in the front kick panels.The Engine runs and drives great and was recently pulled out and inspected. Push-rod tubes were resealed and everything was fully adjusted. While the engine was out the engine tins were repainted in high temp gloss black with new Firewall insulation and the wiring was cleaned up and recovered in an FR Woven Wrap. The Charging system has been tested and is functioning perfectly. The entire fuel system was inspected and repaired with new hoses, pump, all NEW injectors, and hardline. All Maintenance was done including new spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points, condenser, and fresh Oil and Strainer and Air Filter.The Body needs some attention. This has been painted previously, the entire floor pan was replaced with a high quality Zito Pereira Pan. All doors, hood, and trunk lids fit and function great. Weather seals are in good condition and the convertible top functions flawlessly.THE NOT SO GOOD:There is still a small oil leak from the engine that leaves roughly a dime sized spot on the ground after driving and parked. The Oil Warning light doesn't turn off in the Dash. We have however confirmed Oil Pressure at 40PSI cold and 19PSI Warm and replaced the Sensor. The Heater Ducts from the Engine are not hooked up and have been temporarily blocked off. There is some rust in the normal spots in the wheel wells and Body mounts areas. The front Suspension needs some attention. The Passenger Seat is missing the Slider release Pin and has been set into a fixed position. Most of these things can be repaired with readily available parts.
