Vehicle Details

Survivor last year VW Bus. West German made. Good solid runner/driver, stock stock stock. I believe it was repainted once in the original Bahama Blue, but I’m not sure. It has the rust as shown in the usual places. Dent on roof from a tree branch as shown, might pop out. Needs brake work but ok to drive. Clutch is grabby but doesn’t slip. Shifts fine, no ‘pop-out’ of any gears. Exhaust is rusted but patched for now. Original center seat that is almost always missing on these. Heater cables frozen. Original jack, interior, engin, etc. I installed retractable seat belts in stock mounts, original belts included. No crash repairs. Engine may have been rebuilt at some point, but I’m not sure. She runs great! There’s no smoke, it starts right up and pulls fine. A tiny drop of an oil leak, better than any other VW I’ve seen! Original Bosch fuel injection works fine. Retrosound aftermarket radio installed, but antenna broke off with the tree thing so it’s not working. Recent battery, 4 recent Hankook tires of the correct size and correct light truck rating, 90% tread.

I’ve owned it about 10 years. I rebuilt the CV shafts with new boots years ago and did other work now and then. Rebuilt wiper motor with brass gear replacement of plastic one.

I love this bus! I’m second owner, first owner was a lady in Florida that passed away, but I was told by her husband that she loved her bus!

I’m just getting older and “running out of runway” in life. I’m never going to have the time, space or money to fix it up right. Time to let it go. It’s a fun car, I get smiles and thumbs up and questions and comments every time I drive it, including the spot I took these photos. I didn’t wash it up or polish it for pics, but it does clean up well! It will drive anywhere around town or to load for transportation, I would hesitate to take it on the interstate, although I have for short periods in the past. I will assist with transportation, the bus is in Ocala, Florida.

Thanks for taking a look!
