Karmann Convertible Classic

Engine:4 cylinders 1600 cc 60 horse power Dual port.Engine rebuilt top to bottom, block split all the way down and rebuilt back up plus the carburetor was rebuilt.Transmission fluid drained and replaced with new.Many new parts were put in the engine but it was running good before, NOW it is running great!Since the engine has been rebuilt it has only 50 miles on it so it will need the valves adjusted at 100 miles then again at 500 miles or less (only do the adjusting when the engine is cool). Heater boxes and mufflers are in good shape. Put NEW tail pipe extensions on muffler. Gas tank was flushed and cleaned.
Brake System:Master cylinder, brake shoes, brake lines, wheels & drums turned, emergency brake cables, springs etc. This car will stop on a dime!
The dashboard is very clean with all gauges working and the door panels are in great shape.
This is a numbers matching car which we understand has always been stored in a garage with a cover over it.
This is a description of what took place on the outside of the car, it was sanded down with the fenders taken off of the body to be painted and put back on with new 8mm bolts plus rubber molding. Replaced one bumper with a new one.
NEW RUBBER SEAL: Hood, engine lid, windshield, convertible top rear window door handles, fender molding.
NEW: 5 Radial tires, antenna, front wheel bearings, headlights, shocks, and windshield wiper blades.
Already great:
No rust on car, the chrome, running boards, top inside liner, boot for top is in great shape and all lights, turn signals plus horn work, steering box is good, all windows work easy, seats slide easy in the tracks, seat belts work and a really great radio with 2speakers under the seats 2 behind rear seats but if you don’t like music they can be easily disconnected and taken out.
Underthe car the floor pans, main frame and heater channels are in excellent condition and have been undercoated. Battery cables and the fuse box were cleaned so they look like new.
NEW: Steering damper, battery, fuses, accelerator cable, clutch cableand clutch.
INSIDE CAR: New carpet all the way through the car. The floor was painted before the carpet was installed with ½†gray pad under carpet for sound barrier.Front and back seats were reupholstered. The front seats had 2"foam padding used so they are very comfortable.
The original owner’s manual is included.
Why are we selling Sunshine? My husband has always wanted an old corvette, he found one and bought it, and we now have the problem of garage space. Sunshine deserves to be number #1 enjoyed and driven. This is one of the best VW’s I have ever owned!
