This is one of the best examples of an ORIGINAL Canadian Standard available today.
You'll be hard-pressed to find such a well documented, original car.

Included with the car will be:
• A birth certificate
• A certificate from VW confirming the engine is original to the car (so is the transmission)
• The original owner's manual
• The original service manual
• A service log from the original owner in 1960 with all of its service documented throughout the years
• Original keys with the factory VIN tag attached.
• Original Canadian dealer plate frame
• Correct 1960 Canadian license plate
• Original jack and tools
Body and interior:
The car still sports its ORIGINAL PAINT. One year only color INDIGOBLAU L 436 and has the factory color label still present. I believe the lower parts of the rear fenders have been retouched but don't really know why. There is no indication this car has been crashed in any way. My guess is that they may have a bit sunburned at some point. It has amazing discoloration throughout the body that allows the original gray primer to show through. It does have little blemishes all over, but that is expected with an original car such as this. The front-wheel well has a bit of surface rust the same with the original floors. Two areas that may require attention is the under the windshield seal and the right rear bumper mount. They've never bothered me enough to attempt to fix it so I've left it untouched. I didn't want to mess with the original condition of the car.
The correct BLACK details are all still present. The black three-spoke steering wheel, black shift nob, black vent window latches, pull nobs and seat wing nuts are all still there. The clear needle speedo works great.
All glass with the exception of the windshield is Sekurit and in great condition.
The entire interior is COMPLETELY ORIGINAL as listed on the birth certificate. The carpet and all seats and door panels are original as well.
The original mohair quarter headliner is still in amazing condition.
A factory-installed shift lock is also included with its key and functions as it should. I've never seen another like it and believe it is listed on the birth certificate.
Wheels and tires:
The car still has all 5 original date-stamped wheels in their original paint. All 4 tires are new Firestone F 560. The rears are 165's and the front 155's.
Mechanically:
The car still has its original engine and transmission and it starts and drives perfectly every time. You can eat off of the original 36hp engine, which has been rebuilt and the transmission doesn't whine... it's one of the quietest transmissions I've ever driven in any of the many VW's I've owned.
Suspension:
The car has been tastefully lowered with ALL THE ORIGINAL PARTS SAVED. A new 4" narrowed NEEDLE BEARING beam with shock towers was purchased from Jerfab along with 4-inch drop plates for the rear. This set up has stock spindles.
The original beam was removed spindle to spindle and set aside along with the original spring plates. I can arrange for the car to be put back to complete stock if the purchaser wishes to do so. The original beam will accompany the car either way.

However, if I put the car back to stock, the narrowed beam and those components will not come with the car. Time must be allowed for me to have this done.
Electrical:
It is still the original 6-Volt ( with an Optima battery) and all the electrical works with the exception of the horn (which is present) but doesn't work.
This includes the wipers, turn signals (both front and back) headlights and high beams. Don't expect HID quality out of these things. The system is 6 volt.
Overall, I have barely driven this car since I've owned it. It has been garage kept and on a tender during my ownership.
It's time for me to move on and let someone else enjoy the car. I encourage anyone to come see the car and ask as many questions as you'd like.
