1965 VW Volkswagen Sunroof Beetle - Bug
1965 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic
AWESOME PATINA ON A CLASSIC STYLE TWO TONE PAINT JOB, LOWERED STANCE, SMOOTH RUNNING MOTOR, COOL BUGPatina'd, lowered, and ready to cruise - this 1965 Volkswagen Beetle offers some serious distinction even in a crowd of Bugs. This car has been said to have spent most of its life in California, until it was moved to Oregon where it has been in storage for the past 20 years. The current owner merely had to do some deep cleaning and a major tune up to get this classic bug back on the road.
This car is proudly wearing an older custom paint job that has seen its share of summer days at the beach and has the perfect patina that everyone loves to see at the car shows. In fact, with the bumper overriders, larger wheels, and lowered stance (including the negative camber in the rear wheels) this car has that cool, modern VW hot rod aggression. But at its heart, it's still an early Bug. With the bigger headlights, the early cars are much more endearing, and the flat windshield and rubber running boards add a certain vintage appeal. Then you add in great elements like the roof rack, front accessory light, and the straight vintage body with complete trim. It perfectly merges the new and vintage worlds.
The interior of this classic two-tone VW is highlighted by newly reupholstered black seats front and rear including new padding and seat frame restoration on the '67 seats(1967 seats are more desirable for there adjustment and seat back release options) The interior looks strikingly original from the driver's seat including the two-spoke steering wheel with Wolfsburg crest and central VDO speedometer. The headliner, visors and sunroof crank are all present and in good condition. The seat belts have been updated to 3 point harness configuration for added safety. This is truly VW's simple chic at its finest.
The suspension has been mildly modified with an adjustable front beam and Atomwerks 2" drop plates in the rear to give this bug that lowered look without sacrificing the factory ride. All four corners are riding on new shocks, tires and wheels.
The engine bay is a very clean marvel of simplicity - just what these Beetles should be. The very tidy 1300cc horizontally-opposed four-cylinder engine is an appropriate one-barrel carburetor. It fires up easily with a magical buzz that only an air-cooled motor can. These are far from the most powerful motors out there, but you do get an extra kick going down the road thanks to an upgraded motor for '65 and there are even added components like upgraded heads. Plus, these indestructible powerplants are part of a larger engineering package that makes these VWs legendary. The rear-mounted motor gives the car good traction, and doesn't have the power loss associated with a large driveshaft. The four-cylinder is built to be stout and run all day without overheating thanks to air cooling. Also, you get to make the most out of this motor with the control of the four-speed manual transmission. The result is a nippy little car. But let's face it, when it looks this good, you want to be going slow enough so everyone gets a good stare at your Bug.

Roof & Hood area - The Clear-coat is peeling on the hood a bit (what is still there buffs out nicely) and the roof has some sunburn - but no corrosion "anywhere" (rain gutters, around windows and seals all solid)
