Description:

1960 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

The VW T1 was produced in December 1960 and delivered to the company Hutschenreuther Ceramics in Wiesau (Germany) in January 1961. This company also manufactured the flower vases for the VW Beetle models. Hutschenreuther used the vehicle as a crew vehicle (9 seats) for its works fire brigade. There was never a fire nor was it ever deployed in the nearly 60 years of its use. The 8.400 miles were reached merely by motion trips and driving to the TÜV (German Technical Control Board). The trips were only made when the weather was good. The bus ("Bulli”) always stood in the garage in winter and when it rained. The mileage is documented by a logbook. The original vehicle registration document of 1960 is just as available as the original registration plates. No welding works were carried out on the vehicle. However, there was some minor manoeuvring damage, which partly needed repainting. The T1 partly still has its original paint. There are a few small dents on the vehicle, which occurred while loading and offloading the fire brigade equipment. Driving it is a real experience, as it seems like you are driving a new car from the 60s. A vehicle in this condition and with this driven mileage is rarely to never offered for sale. This is an absolute rarity.

The car is located in Austria (Europe) near Vienna.
