Regretfully, I'm posting my Vanagon Syncro Westfalia for sale. It will be hard to find one as meticulously built as this one over the past 4 years. Since being built, the van has only about 20 miles of run time and has been kept in a heated aircraft hangar. Here are the specifications:
1987 Vanagon Syncro Converted to Poptop. Project started with an extremely clean Syncro with very light rust in one seam that was fixed properly.
Exterior
Exterior completely stripped, seams blasted, and new 3M seam sealer installed.
Door handles repainted.
All new window and door seals.
New North Westy Sunbrella pop top canvas
New skylight
South African grill
New smoked taillight lenses
New bumpers

New complete CV axles
All new wheel bearings
All new brakes, shoes, pads, calipers, rotors, drums, and stainless brake lines
New brake master cylinder
Fuel tank removed, cleaned cavity and repainted with rust inhibiting paint. Installed stainless brackets, cleaned tank, new fuel sending unit, and all new seals and hoses.
New stainless auxiliary fuel tank under slider door. Fuel cap installed in 2WD fuel cap location.
New power steering unit and lines
Near brand new BF Goodrich tires and rims
Overhauled transmission
Inspected front differential
AA transaxle decoupler unit installed. Still using the viscous coupler
New driveline
All new shifter bushings and hardware at the shifter
New clutch, new slave and master cylinder with stainless line. Reinforced linkage for clutch pressure plate / throwout bearing
Electrical
All LED marker/turn signal lights
LED Pilot headlights
Vision X Cannon lights
LED project two fog lights
New ignition switch
New turn signal and wiper switches
New full river sealed battery
Engine
Fully built 2.2 WBX. Lower end built by Rocky Jennings W/ special cam, upgraded oil pump, and balanced rods. New pistons and sleeves upgraded to a 2.2. Top end built by Jerry at NW Connecting Rod with new heads and ratio rockers.
Head gaskets sealed with flamemaster pro seal fuel tank aviation sealant (will not leak!)
Engine is supercharged with an overhauled SC12 supercharger.
Modified throttle valve and throttle position sensor
Megasquirt MSII engine management system that is completely tunable. Built by TheDubShop.
All new engine wiring by TheDubShop
Custom intake plenum, machined injector mounts, and all new fuel lines.
Evans Waterless Coolant installed
All new silicone coolant lines
Stainless coolant lines
New radiator, water pump, etc.
New aluminum coolant bottle
Stainless Go Westy exhaust
New motor mounts
New throttle cable
Interior
Interior completely stripped with Upol Raptor rubber coating on the floors
Sound deadening on the interior panels, and insulation
New carpet
New upholstery on all seats
Modified dash
New heater core, new blower motor, rebuilt the blower/defrost box
Analog gauges all removed. Replaced with two Android tablets running a digital dash that monitors all engine parameters / speed / fuel quantity (both main and aux tank)
