The Volkswagen Beetle, known as the Bug, is one of the biggest staples in automotive history. Like any sought after collector car, these cars have such an interesting and rich history dating back to the 1940's with Ferdinand Porsche. The pre-1960's cars were robust, but cheaply made, underpowered and not made for our traditional highway use. While in the 60's nearly every year of Beetle seemed to improve upon the previous. With engine upgrades, more attention to build quality, upgrades to braking systems and overall the driving experience continued to improve and become more reliable. It is in my opinion any many Volkswagen enthusiasts alike, that the 1969 model year is the most desirable year Beetle. As with 1970 and on, the Super Beetle was introduced, plastic dashboards were introduced, smog equipment began to be installed and they began to no-longer were produced in Germany and production began to move to Mexico.

I have been a bit of a Volkswagen enthusiast over the years and this particular Bug has been my dearest favorite. The restoration was completed at the end of last year, and unfortunately, life happens and I do not have the financial ability to keep her. It is second to none, in terms of a no-expense spared restoration and how fun, reliable and easy/quick to drive this little car is. The restoration started years ago as an original running driving, straight bodied California Bug with no rust. That is correct, there is NO RUST on this car and it still maintains its original pan without any holes, damage or repair. Prior to restoration it was an extremely well maintained Bug that never saw salt, snow or the coast. It has been dry, Northern California its whole life. The restoration included everything, from upgrading and replacing the suspension and steering. It has new bushings and a front sway bar that dramatically improves driving! It rides and steers very solid at any speed, with complete confidence. It has an upgraded, AH1, 1600 engine, with new electrical and carburetor. It starts every time, turn of the key, regardless of engine or air temperature. The engine is powerful and with the exhaust, sounds great! The transmission was gone through and has new Hurst short shifting linkage installed and shifts tight, and positive feeling for every gear. None of that old dreadful shifter feeling of being very "loose" in every gear. The entire interior was pulled, reupholstered, replaced and upgraded. It has high quality new upholstery, professionally installed, soft red carpet in cab and in front bonnet. The stereo was replaced and upgraded with modern technology and hidden speakers that do not disrupt the classic look, but give great sound and the ability to connect your phone or IPod. And finally the paint and body work is where this car could easily be a show car and take home awards or simply be the awe of everyone at the gas station. The body was sanded, blocked and there was no need for any repairs. A Professionally installed moon roof was put in as were real steel, running boards. The moon roof does not leak! Not one drop. The stunningly beautiful, deep red paint was completed in late October, 2018 and looks flawless. The shop did a wonderful job and the pictures do not do justice. The roof rack and trim is new, and can easily be removed if you prefer to have no rack with the moon roof. She is simply a beautiful little Bug,that should be enjoyed.

I wish I was able to hold onto this car and as it has had so much love and money poured into her. There is no warranty, expressed or implied with mileage exempt due to age.
