i have owned my 1989 vw vanagon wolfsburg gl bluster weekender since 1998..i bought it from my mechanic rolf at city automotive in san francisco..california car..bought new from ron price dealership in south san francisco..he told me he got it from the original owner..has run like a dream all these years and last month i took it to a local shop and found out it had a cracked block..i had just installed a rebuilt engine less than 500 miles ago but obviously it wasn't any good..the engine parts are now sitting on the floor of the vanagon..see photos..i had just bought brand new tires and a new battery..automatic transmission was rebuilt around 4k miles ago..in great shape..have the a/c stuff in my garage..worked when removed..seats carpet body windows as you can see from photos are in great condition..everything works..power windows work..it wasn't my every day driver but i used it on weekends for flea markets..It is a tin top but it folds down into a queen sized bed and has a foldable table..i have moved to the country north of san francisco and i just haven't had a need for it since i already have a truck and a suv...when i bought it it had 118xxx miles and i put on another 86xxx miles in the last 20 years.I have all the paperwork from the last 20 years plus all the brochures from when it was new..see photo..has clean title..i have enjoyed the van for many years and am hoping to find it a good home..i had considered putting in another engine but i decided that the new owner might want to choose what to do..so time to let it go and hopefully it will enjoy some more time on the road..it was always dependable..no problems with brakes..the windshield has a small crack around one foot but it has been there for years and hasn't moved up..last photo..i also have original paperwork and booklets for am/fm/cassette heidelberg from germany..also included thule roof rack i put on last year..Payment is $500 due via Paypal within 24 hours. The balance is to be paid in full within seven days of close of the auction via a bank cashier check. The check must clear my bank before the car will be released.
