1972 VW Poptop Bus

1972 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

Up for auction is my 1972 VW Bus! Own a piece of VW history! This is a camper model with the front pop-top. This a running bus that would make a great project.
Bus has a four cylinder engine which is air cooled. Dual carburetor in place. Engine appears to be original and bus has only 26000 some miles on odometer. No major oil leaks, fires right up! Will need foam replacement around engine area as well as new muffler eventually. Transmission was rebuilt last year by professional VW guy, bus runs well! Two new tires within the last year.
Bus is an eye-catching red with a bunch of stickers from previous owner. Metal is in decent shape with moderate rust in the usual places. Floor pans have mild rust. No major dents. Pop-top plastic in great shape, canvas does have windows cut in it so this will need replaced eventually.
The majority of the electronics are intact. However, several lights to back side are not working. I have not looked into this issue at all, could be simple to fix.
Interior is intact but rough, the camper appliances are no longer with bus. Previous owner replaced floor with imitation hardwood. Has small cot for upstairs. Bed in back.
This bus does include protective cover for front of bus, curtains, and original manual. Several other small items included as well. Bus has clear Kansas title.
