1983 Volkswagen Vanagon GL with BRAND NEW ENGINE

1983 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

BRAND NEW ENGINE! (Installed in February) This Vanagon has recently undergone a ton of mechanical work but unfortunately I do not have the time to finish the project. The inside of the vehicle has been gutted, as I was preparing to use this as a van life vehicle, but sometimes things don't work out like you plan. The body of the vehicle has very minimal rust and a huge portion of the mechanics of the vehicle are brand new. I'm not looking to get back all of the money I've put into restoring the van ($15,000+). I'm just hoping that my bad luck with timing can be beneficial to someone else. If not, I'll be putting the van in storage and finishing the restoration up myself in the future. Things that have been replaced in the past 6 months: 1.9 L Watercooled GEX Engine + warranty (approx. 500 miles on it) Alternator Fuel Lines (very important for old Vanagons) Entire cooling system with exception of radiator Tires Accessories: Side mirrors + radio + locking gas cap Projects: Transmission sometimes struggles to get going after a brief stop Paint job (some of the paint is the original '83 paint job) Stained headliner (I was going to live with it, but you may want to replace) Unreliable speakers Speedometer reads 20 MPH above actual speed Tight shifter cable Customizing the interior (The Fun Part!!!) Interior pieces that I still have: Original wall panels Original seats (seats 9) Original carpeting and insulation Bed from 1970 Vanagon (was going to retrofit into my van) Also note: This is a classic vehicle, and lacks many modern comforts like power steering and A/C.
