This is actually a VW that can get out of its own way and fun to drive 5 spd. As most VW owners know, these vehicles require you "feel" and understand nuances. Driven less than 4,700 miles a year; incredibly low original miles of 115K. I am the 2nd owner. Every record, receipt and note has been kept on this vehicle since day one (see last picture). The 1st. family (first 3 owners are same family; I purchased from member in Santa Cruz who only kept it I believe 2 months). Theykept unbelievable records and I continued in the same fashion. Every detail listed year by year- spectacular old school record keeping.
The USA VenturCraft Kwik Kamp Camping Trailer, were only made from 1992-1999 in Abilene, Texas and have a stellar reputation for quality, utility, ease of set up and the ONLY camping trailer with 19 Cu. Ft. of storage that can be accessed while the unit is up or down. They are highly sought after. Primarily for motorcycles to tow and small cars. It has a hitch weight of 30 pounds/ less than 300 pounds empty. It tows well. A perfect match for the Eurovan with its small footprint, the taillights of the Eurovan and the Kwik Kamp are both visible ensuring visibility during braking or night time driving. I have carried my folding chairs, lamps, Coleman burners, porta potty, charcoal and so much more in that huge space. The Eurovan formally lived in Chula Vista, CA and it suffered from real bad oxidation, so both of these received custom paint jobs 2 years ago at a body shop here in Monterey County.

Custom Curtains. All Windows (which are all different measurements) were fitted with custom curtains, with ties, rods and additional interior liner. I did not want to tint the windows darker ( I see ugly peeling on too many cars) so these work excellent for camping and closing off the entire van for privacy. Also includes a large front panel the ' snaps" to interior ceiling and rear panels for the back as well that snap in place. These curtains, the installation and fabric were very expensive, well over $ 600 for materials and labor.

Custom 22oz Marine Grade Top with snaps and matching rock guard ( standard top held by Velcro and would fly away). Custom top was made to ensure sleeping cushions could be stored on board for travel. Custom Top and Matching rock guard with snaps and twist locks at each end cost $ 350 for this custom top.
Custom 4" Professionally Upholstered ( replaces 2" standard roll mat) sleeping cushions so you can sleep comfortable no matter how long the stay. These cushions have overlock inside fabric edges with welt cording both on top and bottom of each cushion with rich wine burgundy fabric. These cost over $ 400 for the pair. Extremely Comfortable.

SUMMARY:
The Eurovan has been a solid performer for me. The original rear view mirror ( like most Eurovans) kept falling off because of some factory adhesive that did not work. I ultimately had a solid rear view mirror installed with screws to the overhead molding. It works great. There is a crack caused by old mirror that did not go through the windshield. I never changed the windshield (costs $300) not because of expense but rather I did not want to ruin the original factory seal. I have had no problems whatsoever.
The rear hatch is finicky, it does not like to be slammed and shouldn't be; just leave the weight of the tailgate ( it is solid) close it. On occasion the cooling light will flash, not because of any cooling issues but rather because solder joints need to be re- soldered. Again, I refrain from tearing up dashboards or ruining factory installation. This is my 3rd VW and I always use factory VW coolant and I have never had problems. I have lived with it when it happens and have no issues. All gauges work correctly.
You may have noticed my OFFGRID personalized plates. If the buyer is from California you can choose to keep them or not, if not from California, you will have to apply for new plates in your state.
The last picture also shows the Bagged Patio Awning Shade for the KWIK KAMP ( this is shown on the YouTube video). The KWIK KAMP, has good canvas, good zippers, good screens. Photo # 22 shows the canvas best. The rear curtains, tabs and the large light blue with fabric border for the front coverage are in the picture as well. This gives you a closer look at the quality of this work. Because these pieces are only used to secure complete privacy they have retained their original color.
Non-Smoker, No Pets, No Children. Can remove middle seat with no tools, set under awning of KWIK KAMP and have sleeping arrangements in both the Eurovan and KWIK KAMP. The best part is you can go touring in the Eurovan and leave the camping trailer all set up at the campsite. The Eurovan with 201 cubic ft. space has no competitor. I have owned a Westfalia and while they are great, nobody really cooks in them( or any RV really) and then you have to tear down and pack it all up to go touring; and they only seat 4 people. This is a great vehicle with friends and dinner outings/ day trips or as a daily driver for the family. This set up was ideal for my needs- I hope it is for you too!
