1966 VW Baja

1966 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

Ok, So, I've had this baja for years. I've got less than a thousand miles on it as it's been mostly towed behind some classic I had and was used to stuff camping gear in, and kayaks on.
1641 with dual port, 2 bbl Weber on it. Runs like a screaming Monkey. Rebuilt front end including drums, brakes, wheel cylinders, new Jackman rims with new tires all around. Mostly sits until I hook up the towbar, so, actual miles is less than 1k. New battery a while back, but, little or no use and I keep a battery tender on it.
replaced the doors with another set of bug doors as the P.O. installed some kind of fixed Plexiglas for the windows. Was easier to just replace the doors. Had the rear engine cage modified so I can put in a 1 1/4" (class I, I think) tow hitch to drag around a tear drop or kayak trailer. It's been a few years, but, pretty sure I also replaced a rear wheel bearing (right side)
little issues, if it sits for a while, it gets a flat spot in the carb for a bit (probably sticky accel. pump) which goes away after a run of fresh fuel. Also, the manual gas guage gets sticky and I hit it with liquid wrench and it works for a while. Like I said, little things from sitting mostly.
So, you can't buy a turn key 1641 anymore for what I'm asking for the running car. Clear title my name. as is where is.
