Only Original once! As fine as example as she is at 55 years old she has been repainted one time in the original "pearl white" color. You will find imperfections in the paint and small chips on the front fenders. Note front drivers fender lip edge. The seem along the top of the back seat has come undone at the piping. The carpet on the drivers side heater channel is worn in one spot.
This is absolutely and totally a rust free vehicle. Pans, heater channels, fender seems, lower door and door bottoms, even battery tray are clean, original and solid. I am amazed how clean it is "you don't find them like this" anymore.
The Plates are those issued with the car and followed the car through its life, even listed on the original warranty booklet. 6V 631 was chosen for this vehicle because it was (and still is) 6 volts its a 63 and there is only 1 like it ;) 2 Plates and BAKER Volkswagen plate frame. VERY RARE - Baker City Oregon. Operators manual and warranty book come with the vehicle.
I drive this bug very little but I can never stop smiling whenever I do. It consistently starts up easily and I always give it time to warm up. The engine pulls as strong as ever, and steering and suspension are tight and tracking is straight. The 6v Headlights are a little dim but lights horn signals and electrical all work as they should.
New fuel lines and soft brake hoses. Wheel cylinders had been attended to at some point. The brake system is very good. Engine tune up including oil, valve adjustment and carb tune. New (better) rocker studs in place. very clean, nice running original motor.
