Description:

1965 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia

Up for you consideration is a rare Volkswagen type 34 Karmann Ghia.
She’s a handful. She’s not perfect. She was garage build with my blood sweat and tears. She will need some getting used to, to learn how to drive. She doesn’t have a vin on the chassis due to it being a tube chassis. Please know that. This isn’t just a register and drive vehicle. You need to be smart about this.
It does have the correct vin plate in the trunk. I do have the original pan for it which is slightly bent from an accident. This car has been through hell and I’ve brought her back to life twice. She has been in a couple major accidents, how ever without salvage.
So.... the details. All custom made.Right hand driveFull tube chassisA arm front suspensionIRS rear suspensionHalf bridge Mazda 13b rotary engine with 48mm side draft Webber, msd, and other goodies18x 8 rear triple laced Dayton wheels and 17x 7 frontYokohama s drive tiresWilwood 4 piston calipers front and rearTilton pedalsCNC master cylindersHydraulics front and rear with one pump, 4 dumps, and accumulators. She rides great with 4 switches. That’s a learning curve too to adjust the vehicle. All items are powder coated with the exception of the bumpers and light bezels.
I’ve shaved the wipers, the key holes, and the torsion housings. It is tinned to lay flat on the ground and clear the wheels.
It has a built in charger for the hydraulic batteries.
She’s basically all custom and turns heads everywhere.I’m done with the car because I’ve had her for almost 20years and I am now realizing I’m fine with it. She will for sure make you happy.
I will suggest these items of improvement. It runs great and will drive the freeway only with the deck lid off. You need to figure out proper air flow due to the radiator being in the rear. I can guide you with my thoughts on thisShe will need a repaint. Which that’s cool anyway because then you can make it yours. She should also have some sway bars made. She rolls a lot due to the hydraulics and it would help her lift evenly also.
All and all I’d say maybe $10k more and she’s good to go. Over the years I have invested an unreal amount of money and time into her.
Please consider her. Please be willing to take care of her, and please be willing and excepting of her faults. She amazing, and I’m confident you will fall in love with her.
What you see is what you get with the car. She’s not perfect and isn’t easy to drive. It’s not a race car or a drift car. She’s not a daily driver. BUT if you want to show off this is your ticket.
I will also include a bunch of spare parts. Rear clip, doors, rear bumper, etc. what ever I have for her.
Also. You must use 2 stroke oil when filling with gas. The engine needs that. The deck lid must be opened with a screw driver due to not having a proper rare trunk pop.
Again. This car isn’t a daily driver and it’s not perfect. There are a lot of imperfections.

She does also leak a little coolant and oil. Typical Volkswagen plus an extra amount of marking goodness.
