77 VW Champagne Edition Unrestored Original

1977 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Original paint, interior, engine & low miles

This is a GENUINE BEETLE CHAMPAGNE EDITION that has NOT BEEN RESTORED. Offered for Auction is my '77 VW Beetle Convertible. This was the only VW Champagne Edition Beetle delivered to Crossway Motors in Barre, Vt. as each Dealer was allowed one per Dealership. Fred Yeadon bought this car for his Wife 41 years ago and only used it on sunny days. They would now be in their90's and werestill with usas of 5 years ago. After just 4 years of ownership,they retired with plans to move to Florida and realized they needed a car with A/C soit was sold to a collector who knew how to maintain Classic cars.Both owner's were non smokers so there is no strange smell in the interior. It was kept in a wood floor, heated barn on the property and only used sparingly for the next 35 years. I purchased the car from that 73 year old collector. Still retaining most of it's original parts, it is in excellent condition. Along the way, the fuel pump and some braided fuel lines were replaced, a set of NOS Michelin narrow stripe tires installed (impossible to find) and for some reason, 2 tie rods replaced (must have been a slow day in the shop as the car drove perfect before and after the work was done). The car performs perfectly with the fuel injection working just as it should, brakes work perfect, transmissionshifts nice and smooth, heater throws PLENTY of heat, every light works, even the emergency brake warning light and seat belt warning, the ORIGINAL horn has that distinctive sound, am-fm works (even the lights that show am-fm), key buzzer still works, all locks, all windows,ALL glass is original, wipers and washer, turn signals, back up lights, rear defog, fresh air fan, even the little light that shines on the heat controls for night time visibility. Still has it's original rugs and rubber mats, original jack under the rear seat, spare tire and tools that have never been used, interior light that works, even has it's original trunk card boards. All the cars DECALS are still present, interior, engine compartment, gas doorand trunk area.A few of the convertible top weatherstrips were replaced because of cracking in the old rubber.The top and boot are both original and are that distinctive sand color that is not available aftermarket. The seats and packing, which usually is the first thing to let go, are original and very nice. One of the most original and genuine Champagne Editions out there. The lower stripes on the body are the original decals. Notice the white fender beading. Some were black and some white, most late cars were white(many were changed at the Dealer), but BOTH are correct. Very, very, nice car that is still tight with no shakes or shimmys! The floor is original and untouched with undercoating from the Factory still present.

The Car has been verified by the Stiftung Auto Museum in Wolfsburg, Germany and the certifiicate will go with the car. Inspections are welcome with ample notice, but they must be done before the end of the Auction, not after.Here is an opportunity to own a genuine Champagne Edition that has not been tampered with like so many have.
