Description:

1963 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Deluxe

You're looking at my mostly rebuilt or new 1963 VW Beetle factory Ragtop Slider. I have the mileage listed as 5 because essentially the entire driveline is new or rebuilt. Just a few break-in miles have been driven. The car is exceptionally solid overall. This car has incredible patina all over (some of the roof patina is created)...hood, fenders, doors, rear deck lid are all legit time aged real patina! The rear decklid is a very rare and valuable 1957 "W" convertible vented decklid that was rescued and put on this car. Way cool! Driver's door was swapped out for a better door and is light gray but can be professionally matched to the overall look of the car if desired. Rear apron is new and not painted or aged. The Turkis Green peeks out in all the right places.
The car is mildly lowered. Suspension is new and custom. The front beam is narrowed and dropped and cost over $1000 by itself. The front drilled rotors and Wilwood brake setup with new Empi rims and tires cost over $2200. I just had the pans/gaskets professionally replaced at over $1300. Mechanically the car is virtually new. The engine is new and was just built. It's a detailed 1835cc Dual Port, with alternator, and I have over $4500 invested in it! There is provision for heat but I have not purchased hoses. New clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. New fuel lines. Not pictured, but the car will have a new battery installed before auction ends.
New side steps with Deluxe trim. New fender beading all around. All new rubber seals around windows and pop out rear quarter windows. Front and rear glass is perfect and both have new rubber seals with the chrome already installed. The windshield and rear window are not installed so you can select the headliner of your choice, then install them.
All seat frames and springs have been sanded, cleaned and powder coated. Frames are the correct cream color, springs are gloss black. They're beautiful! The Ragtop Slider mechanisms have been rebuilt, cleaned, and powder coated as well. The interior color scheme is yours to chose. I was going with a dark chocolate brown scheme, but I decided the new owner might want something completely different so it's a blank slate for your taste. I have an old raggedy seat installed so the car can be driven around for transport, etc. This is a running, driving, stopping car. All you need is to finish is the interior in your choice of color, and a few connections for lights, etc. Some are hooked up now.
Most brightwork around the car is new or in good shape. Bumpers are original German, not cheap repops. This is such a cool car and I'm bummed I can't finish but my wife and I are adopting two little boys we've been fostering for 3 years and need to build an addition on the house...so...this and others from my collection are being sold to pay for that project.
Lots of time and money has been spent on this killer patina ragtop Beetle. There is no structural rust in the car other than the front pan (and that's not really structuraI). I actually left that hole in case you ever need to get into the front trunk if the release latch fails.
You will have the coolest Ragtop Slider in your area if you buy my car! I'm starting the auction at a number much less than I have in the car. I am open to ending the auction for the right price. Please only bid if you are serious and have funds readily available to complete the transaction. I require a $500 PayPal deposit immediately following the end of the auction, and the balance is to be bank wired within 3 business days. No exceptions. Zero feedback bidders must speak with me PRIOR to bidding. I have had too many game players in the past ruin my auctions. I will happily sell overseas. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
