"1962 VW Bug Barn Find"

This bug was recently brought out of storage after 35+ years and cosmetically we are showing the car exactly the way it was found. It has not been cleaned or washed. However a simple wash would bring this car to a whole new level........

There is not another example that we could find in this condition that any amount of money could duplicate.

-100% virgin nose, structural/jack points and body. All original wiring has been well preserved and everything is in tact (see pics).

This awesome bug is mechanically sound and it runs and drives extremely well. It is an original 6 volt system with a 40 hp 1300 cc engine. The engine runs like a top and is in great tune. No leaks, smoke, or strange noises. Really nice!!!!! We went through the fuel system, installed a new 6 volt battery, new brake hoses and master cylinder (stops on a dime). The car received a minor tune up and the end result is a fantastic running bug. The clutch is perfect and shifting through all the gears is as smooth a butter......The entire drive-train is impressive and cruising down the road is an absolute pleasure.....

The car has an original king pin front end, original smoothie wheels, good tires (old but in decent shape) and original interior. The car is rust free with the exception of the battery tray/passenger floor-pan. The driversside floor is rock solid. There is no rot anywhere else on this car and it has always been a California car since new. Take a close look at the body it is truly amazing and completely authentic without a single notable dent. The paint is obviously very old and has a lovely patina which is quite attractive. The car is complete with the exception of a missing antenna and radio knob (not original radio). Everything else on the car appears to be original. The interior is completely untouched. The odometer, speedometer and fuel gauge all work. The headlights, taillights and running lights also work.

-All other glass looks good

This is truly a special find the way it sits and being a preservation car makes it that much more desirable. This bug has never been messed with in an unsavory way, cut up, or restored (rare). Bugs in this shape are becoming increasingly harder to find and rapidly increasing in value.

This is the perfect car to clean and drive and enjoy as-is, or restore to perfection. The car has a tremendous amount of character and will always put a smile on your face, even in it's dirty untouched condition.
