1976 Volkswagon Westfalia Brand new engin, Here's the story I bought this great looking wrapped van knowing it needed engine work from a local retailers marketing company. They owned it for a few years and in that time they did the wrap, interior wor, new shocks ect. I had a really highly respected volkswagon garu rebuild the engin, but he is getting older so I had a very savvy local collage auto tech that has specialized in air cooled Volkswagon for years do the remove and replace of the rebuilt engine. My instruction to him were to not only remove and replace the engine but to look for any items that should be addressed and advise me if I wanted the work done. So besides a new engine with all new parts he did the following because it sat for some time before repairs he removed the gas tank and sent it out for cleaning and recoated with the gas tank restoring system then installed a new fuel sender while he was right there also replaced the tank fill pipe and extension with new parts, installed new injectors on all cyl. new plugs, and a new electronic ing. ( replace the old points system) a new engine flex plate, resealed the rear oil gallery plugs( hardly anyone knows to do this must do item) repaired the alternator and battery cable and installed a new rebuild alternator because if failed he said you would have to pull the engine again so I did that, replaced the oil pressure sender and boot, new v belt, new fresh air fan hose and the engine sea, repaired the kick dow, throttle spring and clip. and new fuel filter in other words he got it really dialed in. So don't worry about this needing checked out it was by the best. ( names and phone numbers of both mech. available just ask) So new engine that runs killer a hard to find full 3 speed automatic trans that shifts great and has kick down. the previous owner replaced the rear shocks and had seats redon, so the interior looks really good however there is real minor work on cabinets. the carpet I put in because I couldn't look at the green any longer however it is real cheapo, more or less for looks. also needs the rear material for the foam on the top bed has the front section, I was told by the previous owners that the camper equipment worked fine but that was 1 year plus ago so ???. the canvas looks brand new. The body under the wrap looks perfect except for the bump on the front minor hit but should have a new panel installed part is $ 279.95 from most VW bus parts companies. I can see a little paint work needed on the drivers door if you look hard. I intended to make this a diamond but it's been on the back burner to long and I have a real need for the bucks now so the reserve is set real low for one this nice in fact if you are a Westie flipper from my reserve there is plenty of room to make some $$$ if you have been looking for a great absolutely rust free and I mean no rust anywhere (pictures available to email or smart phone) this is the one for you. This bus runs incredible no issues that I know of. No shakes no noise(other than normal) no vibrations. I have a great eBAY score and reviews and that happens because of good communication so call me with questions before not after sale and it will sell this sale I don't like to rerun my stuff. I have reconditioned several on these but simply am running out of time, this needs to go to someone to do some body work or a front end bra would work also. I was going to pull the wrap but it probably cost a few thousand and is very easy to add your own stuff to it by a grafics company.
