1961 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Cream and Yellow

Lola is a unique double barn door camper van. She was imported from Argentina in May 2009, her body work and basic mechanics were restored later that year by Dave Dawson from Carson Cars in Poole Dorset. I purchased her in August 2009. Since then she has had a completey new interior custom made for her by Colin Rouse from Truro Cornwall. She has a bench seat in the front and full width rock and roll bed in the back, oak laminate floor, cream vinyl with yellow piping to match her paintwork, surf board table with oak leg, solar lights and extra rear speakers. I have purposly kept her interior simple and roomy so that she could be used for holidays and as a wedding bus so she could pay her way. She has funky multi coloured cutains suspended from bespoke aluminium rails.Mechanically she has been very well looked after by Bob Poole in Christchurch. As I was doing 10+ weddings per summer it was essential that she always started and ran without fault so always had the best parts and maintenance. I have receipts for steering rack, wiper arms, starter motor, wheel bearings, clutch, fuel pump, HT leads, spark plugs, distributor cap, battery, and front wheel bearings and a Phantom tracker unit amongst many other parts. What ever she has needed has been replaced immediately over the last 8 years.Lola's paintwork looks as good as new except for a small raised area on one of the barn doors, measuring approx 1 1/2" x 1" on the top of the rear nearside door frame above the window. The boot lid also has a small patch on each corner where the paint has started to lift. Neither of these places are noticable unless you look closely. Colin from KustomKolors has estimated that the 2 places would cost a maximum of £1000 to repair to them to the standard of the rest of the van.Lola is ready to go, she has holidayed mostly in Cornwall and the west country over the last few years and is happy to bumble off to anywhere you fancy.I struggled to take no wedding bookings for this year as I knew she was going to be sold, if you wanted to run a small wedding business wth her you will find she is very popular. I need to sell her to pay for some very boring house repairs so I hope you will love her and have as much fun as I have had.Hear from you soonLesley
