This is a very nice 1974 VW Super Beetle Ultra Rare Limited Edition Sun Bug. It was sold new on September 26, 1974 by Lee Dinges Volkswagen, Inc., in Lewiston, Idaho and remained in the area with the original owner for 36 years. They were an older couple and it was her car. She rarely drove it as evidenced by the extremely low miles. They sold it to their friends, another older couple. Consequently, it has spent its entire life in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho, was driven sparingly and cautiously and was never driven in winter. It is in remarkable condition for its age.

This Limited Edition Sun Bug has Sport Wheels, Simulated Leather Sport Steering Wheel, Special Sun Gold Metallic Paint, Leatherette and Corduroy Seats, Special Sports Gearshift Knob, Sun Roof, Pile Carpeting and Rosewood Dash Applique. Also included are Adjustable Bucket Seats, Flow-Through Ventilation, Rear Window Defogger, Heater and Defroster, Day/Night Mirror, Glove Compartment Lock, Vanity Mirror, Four-Speed Transmission, Inertia Type Front Seat Belts, Energy Absorbing Bumpers and Front Stabilizer. All of this is in addition to the Super Beetle standard equipment including a spacious hidden parcel storage area behind the back seat.

It also includes all paperwork from new including its original window sticker, original purchase invoice, owners manual and booklets with dealer service stamps, 2 original Sun Bug showroom brochures and the original engine deck lid "Sun Bug" logo that was never installed and two sets of original keys.

The sunroof works perfectly and is wonderful to have open. The original radio delete panel and antenna delete plug are still there because it was ordered without a radio.The windows have been professionally tinted to protect the interior and keep it cooler on hot days but note that the tint is lighter than it looks in the pictures. Genuine Coco gold/black front and rear floor mats are included.It was given a quality paint job as well as a new engine in 1989 at 26710 miles. In order to keep track of the actual miles on the new engine the speedometer was also replaced and now shows 12995 miles.

It has the expected rock chips up front and a few minor dings but nothing major. The front passenger floor pan is rusted as a result of runoff from a plugged sunroof drain from years ago. The drain tube was unclogged and the floor pan is ugly but solid. A new, uninstalled front floor pan is included. It has an almost full tank of fuel that was stabilized last fall. It has been driven probably less than 50 miles since then. Please keep in mind that while this car is in excellent condition, especially for its age, it isn't a 100 point frame off concourse restoration that you would find on the fairways of Pebble Beach. It hasn't been cleaned with a toothbrush nor polished by a respected jeweler. That having been said, it certainly wouldn't take much to get this VW to near perfect condition.
