THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION! you are bidding to OWN the car!This is a pretty nice vw thing type 181!A new top was just installed this month, a new set of factory style seat covers were also put on.Side curtains have plexi-glass instead of vinyl. All 4 wheel, and master cylinder plus 4 new soft brake lines were also installed, front to rear hard line is recent as well. All 4 wheels are the correct 14 inch smoothies.Floors are original, they are patched with sheet metal welded in under the rear seat/battery area. The floorsare coated with truck bed liner for protection from the elements.The vw has the 6 point rollbar for extra safety.The 1600 cc engine fires right up and has good power! Compression check showed about 120 psi across all cylinders. It appears that itis the original engine,prefix is AM on engine number. It has the original skid plate, fan shroud, and oil bathe air cleaner. The carburetor is new, so are the plugs, wires, points, cap, and rotor. The distributor is recent, and isa009 style, recent coil so is the air filter snorkel too. Odometer shows approximately 15,000, There is no way to verify if it is original miles or not.The 4 speed transaxle shifts easily, clutch grabs quickly, but is easy to get used to.The gas heater looks to be all there, but condition is unknown.The electrical systemseems pretty good, not all cut up, turn signals, headlights etc. work,even the glove box light works!This car has been off the road for a few years, but goes down the road pretty nice after bringing it back to life! Steering feels tight, engine sounds good.This is a "driver" type car, not a show car. it is not perfect,It is over 40 years old.It might need some work/tweaking before driving long distances.It is being sold "as is", no warranty of any kind. It has only been driven a short distance a couple of times on account of having no tags or insurance on it, Title in hand.You are bidding to own the car, not for the right of first refusal!
