1982 VW Westfalia. Approx. 1000 miles on engine. 201k miles on chassis.Exterior: Complete new paint in orig. Color. 2 stage base/clear. Fiberglass removed and refinished orig.white with New decals. Absolutely no-rust orig. Calif.bus. Just a few small dents were repaired before paint. Really good cond. Being 35 yrs. Old. Bumpers were refinished with go west type finish.New Windshield so no pitting. All window rubber is excellent. New side mirrors L & R. Wheels refinished 2-stage white. Tires have very high tread. Has a heavey duty Front mount so it can be towed or used as a bike rack. Exc. Spare tire under front belly pan. Has a New jack. The underside is Rust Free as is the rest of the bus and looks great.This little bus looks near new.
Mechanical: Complete Top End Rebuild by VW pro with over 25 years VW experience. He only works on VW. New AMC Heads and top quality parts were used. Around 1000 miles since rebuild and under warranty. It runs and sounds like a New Motor should. The previous owners had the engine completely rebuilt at 158k along with the trans. but the heads failed because they were not replaced with New Heads. So that's why I had the engine rebuilt. My mechanic would be be happy to talk to prospective buyers. I will provide his phone number here in Portland or. Also has New Exhaust system. He said the Pistons were balanced perfectly and the engine was definitely rebuilt as there are marks on the block where it was split for rebuild. He was very thorough with the rebuild and also installed a New high presure oil pump. New rings, all seals, resurfaced the flywheel and installed a Complete new clutch system. All New ignition system plug, Bosch cap and rotor,wires, coil, rebuilt distributor. Plus many other parts. Fuel injected motor starts and runs beautiful. Fresh transmission fluid. Previous owners had the brakes redone and are exc. Maybe 10,000miles. Shocks were replaced with Kyb at the same time. Gas tank was removed and resealed at that time also. The transmission shifts and works flawlessly with the New clutch. I'm sure i'm leaving stuff out but a lot of work and money went I to this little gem.
Interior: Very Clean orig. Interior in great cond. Dashboard has No cracks and looks great. Has a tach and oil temp gauge added. High quality Bluetooth stero and Blaupunkt speakers. Front and rear. Cover missing drivers side. New headliner and side panel upholstery looks great. Seats are very nice with no rips or tears. Someone stole the front armrests so they are missing. Mattress is very clean and nice. New 3 window tent so No Mildew, Very Sanitary bus. Has all the curtains. All appliances work except the frig won't fire on propane. Works on 110 and 12 volt. Also has dual batteries new 10/15. Orig carpet looks great except for one small spot in the back. The front tableft turned missing along with the zrmrests $169 for a new replacement . Has a locking gas cap.
This little beauty looks runs and drives fantastic! People love this bus and comment how cool it is constantly. I feel confident the New owners will love it! Ready to go anywhere!It is 35 years old and not a new vehicle so things will eventually need repair but I feel it's ready to roll with the best of the westys.
