Rare and Original 1991 VW GTI 16V

1991 Volkswagen Golf GTI

An original and almost 100% stock 1991 GTI 16V!
Recent work done includes:
- New Clutch and flywheel
- New main seal
- New intake valves (belt had slipped)
- Good, used 8v GTI trans (original 16v will go with the car if buyer wants but needs to be rebuilt)
- New Parking brake cables
- New Timing belt and pulley
- New headgasket
- New headliner
- Like new 16" RS reps and tires
The interior is clean but has a cracked dash
The exterior is the worst part of the car. Previous owner had it painted and it's just OK. It's from VA so it's very solid but there are some very small rust areas in the floors, rear wheel arches, by passenger rear window, and passenger inner fender. None of it is rotted by any means. Hood had a big dent/scrape and there's a dent in the driver side fender.
Previous owner also removed the fog lights for some reason.
The non stock parts are:
- H&R springs
- Header
- RS rep wheels
It's not a perfect 20k example obviously but it's a nice, almost stock, example of the iconic 16v
