1987 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon GL

As stated in the condition description, this Vanagon camper is a clean, unrestored, nearly original example. It is in very good overall condition. You would never know it had 300k miles from the way the van looks, runs or drives. It is serviced and ready to go camping. 1987 is the last model year VW offered the Vanagon with chrome bumpers and 7.5" of ground clearance. It also predates power windows and locks, both of which are common to fail. This is the full Westfalia camper model with the pop top, 2 bunks, sink, stove, cabinets, curtains etc. It is complete except for the refrigerator which was removed when it stopped working. All of the loose items such as the tables, curtains, books etc. are present. In addition to the original camping equipment, this van also has the auxiliary battery kit and a Fiamma retractable awning which was added in 2006. This van has always been in North Carolina and it shows - it is nearly rust free, and far better than most. The only evidence of rust is a small spot in the seam of the right rear quarter, as seen in the photo.The van has been garaged for the last ten years, possibly longer. As to be expected, there are some minor imperfections, but overall this is a really nice van. The majority of the mileage seems to have been covered by the first owner. The second and last owners didn't drive that much and were both customers at our shop, Foreign Accents. We have about $25k in service history over the last 12 years/26k miles. It has been well maintained and is up to date. Our service in preparation for sale this time included an oil change, state inspection, 2 new bumper end caps, new radio antenna, new outer window scrapers & front pillar trim, a/c service and full detail. Many of the items that normally go wrong already have. We will gladly go over the service history with anyone who want more details.
