1977 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic
This may be the finest example of the classic German built beetle to exist anywhere. With 7,700 miles on the odometer the car is basically new. When I purchased the car, I was told that it had been sitting in a private collection for many years. Upon taking delivery, I took the car to my local Porsche mechanic (I am an avid Porsche enthusiast) with the instructions to inspect the car thoroughly and give it whatever mechanical work that was needed. They put the car through what I would consider to be a minor mechanical renovation which included about $3,000 worth of work including fuel pump, fuel lines, valve adjustment, major tune-up, etc. etc. Arguably much of this work was not entirely needed but it had been sitting for some time and I wanted it to be perfect. The car now runs and drives (and smells) like new. Having owned bugs in the past, it is amazing to drive one that runs like the day it was brand new.
Not knowing what these cars are really worth today, I have set the reserve at what I think is an extremely low price. By doing a quick google search (which I have included a couple of screen shots in the photos) it looks like they are in some cases brining over thirty thousand dollars (again, my reserve is well below this).
