1966 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

Up for sale is this 1966 VW Beetle. 1300 engine. I purchased it back in 2011 from the second owner. I bought it for $4500. I had new shocks installed, stainless steel tailpipes, running boards, carburetor, starter, hard start relay, tie rods, converted the 1300 motor to electronic ignition, new fuel pump, had all fluids changed twice, accelerator cable replaced, and axle boot kits and seal kits installed by my mechanic. Also the valves were adjusted. I have only put several hundred miles on this daily driver over the five years owning it. It has 99,686 miles on it currently. It has a strong running motor and tight transmission. No fluid leaks. Drives nice and straight and stops fine. Of course, I always get carried away with my toys. I purchased an engine stand, new aluminum engine case (stock 1600cc about $800 from California Import Parts), Top quality Mahle piston and cylinder set ($250), crank, cam, carb, intake manifold, muffler etc, etc, etc…basically everything to build a new 1600 motor for it. Includes a doghouse cooling shroud and tins, new oil cooler, etc. Included are the instructional DVD Bug Me Videos volumes #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 9. The rebuilt heads, flywheel, intake manifold, connecting rods and rocker arms I bought from Chirco Performance. I have spare rims, generators, and a couple thousand dollars worth (mostly new, some used) of various other spare parts (including clutch, pressure plate, door handles, hub caps, beauty rings, gasket kits, speedometer, bearings, the list goes on and on.) If someone is interested in purchasing this they better bring a van or pick up truck for all the extra goodies. Someone will be a very happy camper with this. On 5/20/16 it had a fresh PA state safety inspection performed. Only thing this needs is some minor body work. It was painted just before I had purchased it. Not sure why the imperfections so soon. Very mechanically sound. I have too many toys. This still has the 6 volt electrical system. Selling as-is. No warranty. I accept cash, money order, and bank checks.
