One owner "barn find" Original 6 Volt sedan; Ready for restoration

1966 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

This car is a one family vehicle. I mentioned above that there are mechanical issues due in part to being parked for so long. The brakes dried out and will need a complete rebuild. The starter has had a 'dead' spot for years and we used to park on a hill 'just in case we had to push start it' However, the engine itself was always easy starting and ran good. I don't know the current condition because the starter doesn't work. (It is sitting on the dead spot) and I don't like the idea of push starting a car with no brakes! The interior has never been polluted by smoke, and was completely re-upholstered about a year before we parked it. The driver's seat has a broken weld in the back. The radio (AM only) is not working. There is some rust, mostly around the battery box and the running boards. I don' t know if there is any significant amount elsewhere. Vehicle has never been involved in any kind of accident, however the fenders have been dented slightly in parking lots. Some attempts at filling the minor dents have been made by the owner with varying levels of success.The successful bidder will be responsible for the pick-up and shipping from my home on Orcas Island, San Juan County Washington, U.S.A
