Enter Tom and Kathy Kerns from Hillard, Ohio, avid Volkswagen collectors they contacted the Morey’s to see if an “adoption” could be arranged. It was to their delight, they agreed! Tom flew down to Florida and drove the VW back to Ohio (No Fear in Tom!). The couples sharing the same passion for Volkswagens, became great friends and remaining in contact with each other for many, many years.

Finished in a brilliant Pale Blue, this “bug” shows extremely well. All the trim is present and is brilliant. Both front and rear chrome bumpers fit well and the finish is very good including the override bumper guards and tubular override bars. The Hella headlights and bezels are in very good condition. Inside, the Black vinyl front bucket and rear seat look great with no major signs of wear visible. The matching black door panels, black carpet (with tan Coco mats) and painted dashboard (the last year) are a striking contrast to the Pale Blue exterior of the car and look fantastic. The weather-stripping is pliable and is very good condition. All gauges have correct appearance and function as originally designed. The original steering wheel and black dashboard add to the period feel. Hidden in the glove box is the upgraded Kenwood stereo with KLH speakers to complete this Volkswagen’s interior as this VW was a radio delete optioned car.
