1963 Triumph TR3 B Original Unrestored Survivor - Very Rare

You can restore a car many times but it’s only original once! Up for sale is my original unrestored 1963 Triumph Tr3 B. This is a matching numbers very rare original unmolested and very desirable “B” model. Produced for only 9 months in 1962. There were only 3300 Tr3 B’s produced, only 2800 TR3 B’s were produced with the new more powerful 2.2L TR4 engine and all synchro 4 speed TR4 gearbox. Less than 400 survive worldwide today. Original 1962/1963 New York License Plates.

According to the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate (Birth Certificate), this Tr3 B was built on September 13, 1962, VIN: TCF/2046-L, Engine #: CT/2079-E, Body #: 2576-TSF. All ID plates on the car match the BMIHT certificate nos. which match the vehicle registration that's is in my name. Car still retains its original Black paint with original red interior. Includes new stunning Beige convertible top, new side curtains, original jack, factory complete tool roll (ultra rare $$$), spare tire and wheel and original factory TR3 B operations manual (3rd edition 6th printing).

Mechanicals: After replacing and upgrading the parts listed below, the car now drives good and can be driven anywhere. It sat for 15 years in a friend’s garage in Maine. It is an absolutely fun car to drive!!! This Tr3 B is surprisingly FAST compared to my MGA. The gearbox is quiet and pulls well in all 4 gears without any grinds, noises, or hesitation. Downshifting is fine and the clutch is light, and it is a pleasure to shift up and down through all the gears.

This engine idles at 800 rpm and is a smooth runner and quick starter. It revs quickly with a terrific exhaust note (needs a muffler soon). The engine valves were adjusted with new plugs, wires cap and rotor. The cooling system runs cool. Brakes were completely rebuilt with new pads and lines and the car stops straight and fast. Steering and shocks are in good shape. This car is surprisingly quick off the line and revs to 6,000 without effort. Its a lot of fun to drive!

Oil pressure is strong at 60 psi.It runs very strong with no smoke no oil leaks and sounds terrific. Lights, horn signals and gauges all work.

You can literally drive it 60-80 mph all day long. It has a comfortable road feel at cruising speed and an incredible sounding crisp exhaust note. I’m 6 feet 2 inches and 210 lbs and I fit very comfortable with my legs straight out.

The following are recent UPGRADES and new parts/services:

· New fuel pump, fuel lines and filters

N· New tune up parts (distributor and ignition wires, cap, rotor, NGK spark plugs, oil change and oil filter)

· 72 spoke Dunlop painted wheels and Vredestin radial tires ($2500 for set). These wheels are stronger than the stock wheels with 48 spokes and make the car safer and improve drivability.

· New Beige convertible top ($500)

· New side curtains ($500)

Body: Body is straight and accident free! NO BONDO ANYWHERE. Paint appears to be original with great patina, looks good but not perfect but is presentable with some nicks and scratches. What makes this car special is it’s an honest runner that has not been modified in any way. It is a true survivor!!

The frame is solid, straight and accident free and basically rust free!!!, Trunk area surrounding gas tankand spare tire areais solid with no rust. I had it on lifts and it looked straight and solid in all the rust prone areas. Floors are solid and wheel wells, inner and outer sills all check out with no bondo and no accidents.

Front windshield glass, lights, lenses, and all chrome including front grill, bumpers and bumperettes, are original and in good condition. Windshield is the original laminated factory glass and is in good condition.

Interior: The interior in the car is nice and full of patina. The dash, door caps, door panels are original. Seats were reupholstered and has new carpets and rubber mats. Dash looks great with all working original gauges, buttons, and knobs. Cockpit rails are in good condition with a nice tight fit. Doors close nice and tight. The beige top is brand new along with new side curtains. The Moto-Lita wheel is from the 1970-1980’s and I have the original steering wheel, jack and tool roll with all original tools. That’s amazing to see.

Closing: This is a 61-year-old car so it is sold “AS IS” with no expressed or implied warrantee or guarantees. I am not a broker or a dealer so this is a private sale that is final. It is sold “WHERE IS” in Huntington, New York and if transported will be the cost of the buyer. Hagerty Insurance Co has an agreed upon value of $35,000. You are welcome to see and drive the car to insure 100% satisfaction.

The late Tr3 B’s are the best drivers and are very sought after by collectors and car enthusiasts and are rapidly appreciating for well restored cars or excellent original (if you can find them).

I have a current valid transferrable New York registration.
