For sale is a 1968 Triumph Spitfire Mk3 in excellent running condition. Engine is a replacement 1147 unit out of a Spitfire Mk2, runs strong with oil pressure in the 80 psi range. Fitted with twin SU HS2 carburetors and pulls like a champ. Car includes both a soft top and matching fiberglass hardtop. Recent work includes an oil and filter change, new radiator cap and the addition of a Smiths mechanical dual gauge (oil pressure/temperature). Cibie Z-Beam halogen headlamps have also been added for better visibility during night driving. Car also comes with my collection of spare parts, including:-new carpet kit-new seat covers-new alternator with conversion kit-new switches for dashboard-two original Triumph steering wheels-brake components-front trunnions-tune up components-books and manuals-Heritage Certificate from the UKRegistration is current and car has tags good through January of 2024. Title is clean and on hand.Minor issues include an oil leak from the oil sump due to worn plug (I have a new brass plug to replace it), driver's side door handle pushbutton pops out (I am including a brand new handle assembly), small oil leak from differential (honestly, all the British cars I have owned leak a small amount of oil) and a small patch of rust below the brake master cylinder (from an old brake fluid spill). The dual gauge and speedometer are not currently illuminated (bulb holders missing). Despite these minor (and common) issues, the Spitfire is still a fun driver that runs and drives really well and has served me reliably. I no longer have the time or funds to give it the full restoration it deserves. It will be sure to put a smile on your face!
