1970 TRIUMPH GT6 PLUS **ULTIMATE GARAGE FIND EXAMPLE "LOW RESERVE AUCTION"

Price: -
Description:

1970 Triumph GT6 Plus

Attention British Car Enthusiasts:
Looking for a new home for this rare Valencia Blue 1970 Triumph GT6 Plus. Has 52,000 original miles.
The Triumph is a garage find example that has been garage stored since 1986. Very original GT6 "Plus" that would make an excellent foundation for restoration. I was told that the Triumph came from California prior to coming to Michigan in the mid 80's. There is a "Cal State University" sticker on the windshield which supports that history. The Triumph was driven for several years prior to being parked.
Unfortunately I have lost storagespace for some of my cars and need to find a newhome for this GT6.
Low Reserve Auction!

I will be adding more pictures within the next few days.
A wonderful opportunity for the British car enthusiast that is looking for a great classic at an affordable price. The GT6 has become very collectible due to the low production numbers.

Bid with confidence with my 100% positive feedback.

The "GT6" is being sold in "as is" condition with no warranties expressed or implied.

I had purchased this GT6 from the owner of an import repair shop. It was part of an estate sale and had been garage stored for 36 years. The shop started doing some work on the Triumph but ultimately sold it unfinished.
Mechanicallythe Triumph will need to be gone through since it's been stored for years. It starts easily with the pull of the choke. The engine sounds good and does not show any smoke from the exhaust. I believe the gas line is plugged because the fuel pump is not drawing gas from the tank. An alternative fuel supply was used to get it running. The engine does not have any of the typical leaks. The GT6 will need to have the brake and clutch master cylinders rebuilt along with other components to make it roadworthy again. It does have a new starter solenoid along with tune up components. Tires are old and a few have slow leaks. Engine compartment has been cleaned up and presents nicely.

Thebody is in good condition as shown in the pictures. The body work/paint is "driver" quality and looks good. It was repainted in it's original color many years ago. There are several areas that have paint runs. It does have multiple areas on the body that have been touched up including two areas on the hood. There are some misc. rust bubbles on the body that include the edge of the hood where it meets the valence. The driver's door also has a small bubble spot. The lip of the rear valence shows some typical rust as well. Inside the trunk, the right rear quarter panel shows some rust and previous repair. The panel fit of the body is very good and does not show any evidence of previous accident damage. The hood/nose panel fits very nicely as shown in the pictures. Doors fit and close nicely. Wheel arches in good condition with no rust. The chrome/bumpers is in nice original condition. The floors show evidence of old and newer fiberglass repairs in multiple places. Ideally the floors should be replaced. The frame is in good condition with the exception of a small area on the frame behind the right front wheel.

Theinterioris in good original condition as detailed in the pictures. Original door panels are in fair condition. Dash is in good condition. Headliner is in excellent condition. Glass is in good condition.
Has period correct "BWA" alloy wheels with original center caps.
Has original factory Vin plate which confirms the original color is Valencia - paint code 66.
Once again, the GT6 represents a great basis for a restoration. The Valencia Blue is a very rare color and truly looks great. If you have any questions that have not been addressed, send a message via ebay messaging.
**License plate not included.
I do not have a "buy it now" price, but would consider ending the auction early for a serious offer.
