Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this attractive and charming TR3 Small Mouth Roadster in Green with Red trim, just in time for Christmas!
This car was purchased from the previous long term owner's widow in the state of Wisconsin. This car was used and loved for many years and participated in all sorts of motoring events, as evidenced by its collection of stickers and dash plaques dating all the way back to the 1980's.
The cosmetics on this car overall are presentable. The paint and bodywork are clearly older and were done to a budget back in the day. Panel fit is variable but typical TR3. The car looks really good from 10 feet. There's plenty of paint flaws, chips, rub-throughs, dings and small dents- all good signs of plenty of extensive use and lots of motoring fun had (and still more left).
The interior trim is in older but decent condition with some updated front seat covers in vinyl that appear to be from Moss Motors back in the day. The steering wheel feels great and is a newer addition. Carpets are a bit tired in red loop. The door panels look original. There is a decent white soft top with a matching pair of sidescreens.
Mechanically, the car feels pretty good. The engine starts easily on key with good oil pressure, little smoke, no noises, and is very willing out on the road. The gearbox and clutch feel good. It's a Triumph. It's as tough as old boots with very robust mechanicals overall. The car's body and chassis are a bit rattly out on a rough road, but that's typical. The car's underside shows a very good and solid frame, some body repairs.
This car still retains its original sequenced engine, original body tag, VIN plate.
Overall, a very interesting and fun TR3 ready for a new lease on life, with it's seldom seen color scheme and competition look. This desirable Small Mouth roadster has a great old look about, and is ready to reward it's next caretaker with plenty of fun at a modest price.Please look at all pictures and call or email with any questions.
