1965 Triumph TR4 Roadster

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very original TR-4. This car was just purchased from only the second owner from Illinois who drove the car until 1969 and then stored it. The car came off the road for a repaint from it's original British Racing Green to it's current Signal Red. Life became busy raising children so the project stalled and then was stored all of those years until recently.The body on this car is exceptionally straight with no signs of any accidents. The car was painted almost 50 years ago and could be touched up here and there for driver quality, or simply resprayed for a perfect result. The floors and all other sheetmetal look very solid. Gaps are pretty much perfect, per factory.The car's interior panels are 100% original and would survive quite well, if fitted with a new carpet kit. The seats have been nicely retrimmed along the way and are still in great shape.The dashboard needs restoring. The car is fitted with a beautiful period correct Nardi wheel that is quite valuable. A new tinted windshield has been fitted.The correctly sequenced engine was overhauled with new rings, bearings, gaskets, and a valve job. It runs well. It is fitted with a period and interesting Offenhouse finned aluminum valve cover. We will be posting a video of it running soon. The car needs a general recommissioning of it's fuel and braking system to drive. Tires are period Pirelli Cinturatos dated from 1967.The car's underside looks solid and straight with only some minor surface rust.It still retains it's original body tag, VIN plate, correct engine.Overall, a super good car that has been stored for almost all of it's life. It should need little in the way of cosmetics and light mechanicals. This preserved car has an interesting history and is an exciting opportunity going forward.
