1963 Triumph TR3B Roadster, Runs and Drives Well, Convertible
1963 Triumph TR3
This Triumph TR3 is solid and runs and drives well, but is only in fair condition cosmetically. This would be a good car for someone looking for a fun driver, or would be great for someone who is good at doing paint and body work.
MECHANICAL: The engine runs well, has excellent oil pressure, does not burn oil, and does not overheat. The brakes, parking brake, and clutch are in good working order, and the transmission shifts well through all the gears. All of the following items are new: tires, fuel pump, generator, high torque starter, battery, front brake rotors, front brake pads, front calipers, rear brake cylinders, front and rear brake hoses, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, clutch hose, turn signal relay, and fan belt. The VIN is TCF1176L and the engine number is TS25665.
ELECTRICAL: The electrical systems are in remarkably good order. The headlights, running lights, turn signals, horn, gauges, and dash lights are all in good working order.
MILEAGE: The previous owner bought this car in 1973 and enjoyed it for 44 years until his passing. The odometer currently reads 25,695. The previous owner’s widow believed it to be correct and it shows “Actual Mileage” on the title, but I cannot confirm that to be true. Cars this old are sold “exempt” on mileage.
BODY / FLOORS / FRAME / PAINT: The frame, floors, body, and trunk appear to be pretty solid, but it looks like this car had some accident damage at some point in the past. I can see that the front-right inner fender has been repaired, and the alignment and fit of the hood, doors, and front fenders is not as good as it should be. The trunk floor and spare wheel well are solid. I found a few small patches of metal welded in the wheel wells and one on the driver’s floor. It was likely painted sometime back in the 80’s or 90’s. The paint was not a high-quality finish, and this car has plenty of dents, chips, scratches and touch-ups. The color is a very creamy white, or almost a pale yellow.
INTERIOR / TOP / CHROME: The interior is old but looks decent for its age. The convertible top is old but still somewhat usable. It has side curtains as shown in the pictures but there are no tools or hood stick cover. The chrome and rear bumpers show age and wear as expected, but the front bumper is very nice. There is a small crack in the bottom corner of the windscreen as shown in the pictures.
TITLE TRANSFER AND PAPERWORK: I am a long-time classic car hobbyist and a licensed Florida car dealer (Classic Investment Motorcars Inc.) This means that you must complete the required sales and title transfer forms with me, which can be done in person or through the mail. The car cannot be released until I have received all completed paperwork and payment in full.
DOCUMENTATION FEE: A flat fee of $100 is charged on all vehicle purchases to help cover postage, paperwork, vehicle preparation, and other costs. Please understand that this fee cannot be waived. This fee applies regardless of whether you are an individual or a dealer.
SALES TAX: If the vehicle is shipped out of Florida by common carrier or freight forwarder I will not need to collect sales tax (you will take care of that where you live.) If you live in Florida, or pick up the car in Florida, then I am required to collect applicable sales tax and tag/title fees. If you live in another state and pick up the car here, most states will give you credit for the sales tax I collect (in this case the sales tax rate will be the lesser of 6% or the rate that applies to you in your state.) Please feel free to contact me before bidding to find out how the tax rules will apply for your individual state.
DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT: A $200 non-refundable PayPal deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the listing. The balance must be paid by cash, cashier’s check, or wire transfer within seven days. All cashier’s checks must clear my bank before the vehicle can be released. If the buyer does not pay in accordance with these requirements, I may, at my option, make second-chance offers or re-list/remarket the vehicle and the deposit will be forfeited by the buyer.
SHIPPING: Arranging and paying for shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. We are happy to cooperate with any shipping company you choose, domestic or international. We may also be able to help you arrange shipping at a good price, but the responsibility will remain with you.
THIS VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS-IS, WHERE-IS, WITH NO WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. Please feel free to come inspect the car in person or to have it inspected by a third-party inspection service. Cars are shown by appointment only, but we are available most days. Please note that if you are the winning buyer you will have entered into a binding contract to complete the purchase in accordance with eBay rules. The sale location is Bell, Florida, Florida law governs, and venue lies exclusively in Gilchrist County, Florida.
