You are bidding on The Perfect Winter Project! We recently acquired this half finished 1963 TR4 restoration project. This was a very nice, very solid Wire Wheel, Overdrive, street TR4 when the owner dismantled it for a total frame up show car restoration. Much work was done and much money was spent but the project eventually stalled and then was abandoned. Here is what is included:
CHASSIS
The solid TR4 body sits on top of a finished frame and suspension. Frame was stripped painted and both front and rear suspension were rebuilt and reassembled. There is a coat of dust on the chassis from sitting in the owner's garage.All five wire wheels have been cleaned, trued, and powder coated,and mounted to new tires.
ENGINE and TRANSMISSIONThe internal condition of the engine and overdrive transmission is unclear. At the very least they are in good used running condition and may have been serviced or rebuilt.
NEW PARTSThere are hundreds of new parts included: Interior trim, door panels & seat covers (Moss),fender trim (Moss), dash pad (Moss), carpet set (Moss), tonneau (Moss), convertible top (Moss), engine gasket set, weather strip, trunk seal, overflow hose, radiator hose set, lap belts, front shocks, left lower dash pad, nickel-copper brake line set, plug wires, pinion oil seal, fan belt, wing mirror, owners manual, fan cable, top forward trim retainer kit, heater hoses, ignition switch with key set, shift lever, main bearings, engine mounts, multiple brackets, TR4 trunk emblem, TR4 front letters, exhaust hangers, front bumper over riders, brake hose set, dash plate, carb insulator blocks, caliper piston rubbers, misc gaskets and seals, spark plugs and restoration book. Also included is a complete new exhaust system.
USED PARTSAlmost everything not listed above is present in good used form. Many pieces have already been reconditioned and are ready to be installed.
If you are looking to add an early white dash, highly optioned TR4 to your British Car collection this could be the project for you.
NOTE 1We also acquired some old photo prints of this TR4 before it was dismantled. We scanned them and have them available for review by interested buyers. Because of the scanning and previous print quality these images are a fit fuzzy. We could not squeeze them into our auction because we had so many parts to display. Contact me and I will send these images along.
