1968 Triumph TR4A TR4A Roadster
**PLEASE SCROLL DOWN THE AD LISTING PAGE TO VIEW A COMPLETE SET OF DETAILED PHOTOS OF THE VEHICLE**Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very nice Triumph TR4A convertible with the solid rear axle setup. This car was recently purchased out of a three generation family ownership from the state of Pennsylvania and has clearly been well taken care of all of it's life. It is finished in it's original color scheme of striking Signal Red with black trim that suits the car handsomely. The recorded mileage of 73,565 is believed to be original and correct. It has received a very nice cosmetic restoration on an original car that includes newer paint and some chromework, soft top, interior retrim, and wheels and tires. The body on this car is extremely nice and straight with no signs of any damage. The paintwork presents very well and glossy along with a mix of some replated chrome items and some very nice original items including the grille, front bumper, sidelight housings, taillights, etc. The car still retains the factory original paint in the engine compartment, trunk, and door jambs. All of the panels line up nicely and open and close well, as the gapping is excellent and per factory. The doors have that nice TR4 sound when they easily shut. The interior trim was also renewed at the time of the restoration and includes newly upholstered seats in correct vinyl, new door panels, arm bars, top pad, dashwood wood facia in solid teak, carpet set in black cut pile, stereo system with high power speakers, etc. The trim around the rear of the interior looks to be original and in amazing condition. The windshield glass looks newer, but the gasket looks old. The black softop was also renewed at that time (slight tear in the RH corner), and the car also includes a soft top boot cover and tonneau cover in superb original condition. The instruments all operate correctly. The car is a delight to drive with very strong original mechanicals. The engine starts easily on the key with it's much preferred HS-6 twin S.U. carbs. Once warmed, it revs easily with good oil pressure from 50-70 psi, no smoke or noises, shifts crisply through all the gears with no complaints, and rolls nicely and quietly along the road with it's newer tire/chrome wire wheel set. Brakes, clutch, and steering are all functioning fine. The engine compartment is amazingly original paint and has been very well detailed. The engine number is sequenced very closely to the car's VIN and body numbers, most likely the original matching unit for the car...The car's undercarriage looks pretty much original and untouched from new. The frame is perfectly solid and very straight. The floors from underneath look great. There is evidence of some minor rust along the inner rockers, mostly along the right hand side, but could be easily repaired without disturbing anything else.A few items that could use easy improvement on this car would be a steering wheel change back to standard, a renewing of the windshield gasket and finisher, a small repair to the RH door jamb corner along with painting of both jambs, and fresh trunk boards. This car includes the rare and original service voucher booklet, a box of small spares, and the knock-off hammer. We believe the spare tire to be the original Dunlop from the factory. It's mounted on a fifth chrome wire wheel.Overall, a very nice and attractive 4A in great colors and on chrome wires, nicely restored with excellent original mechanicals and long term ownership. These cars offer fantastic 60's styling, and as of late are gaining plenty of interest. Please look at all pictures and call or email with any questions.
