1971 TRIUMPH TR6 CONVERTIBLE Hello and welcome to our auction. I have listed this historic vehicle for the owner as a Seller’s Assistant here on eBay. I am not the owner myself. The owner is a senior who purchased the car on a whim approximately two years ago. It is now difficult for him to get in and out of and his family is suggesting that he sell it. In addition to the preceding, the qualified mechanic that's been maintaining the car for him has closed his business and the owner is incapable of working on the car himself. He's only driven the car a few hundred miles here around town in the two years he's owned it and it's been garage kept. He purchased it from and individual that was originally from the Philadelphia, PA area and had moved to Lewes, DE. That individual had owned the car for approximately nine years and had also garage kept the car. At some point unknown the vehicle was restored. The car was originally white and is now emerald green (teal). Other than this information we have no further provenance on the car. There are, however, receipts and maintenance records dating back several years for both of these owners. These documents will go with the car to the winning bidder.

DESCRIPTION

1971 Triumph TR6 Convertible with 4 speed manual transmission. The odometer reads 45,475 miles but I'm sure that the mileage exceeds the mechanical limits of the odometer. This car is a solid driver that starts, stops, runs fine, and shifts smoothly. The clutch is tight and does not slip and the brakes strong. Tires are new, battery new as of July 2015, new radiator pressure cap and coolant overflow bottle, new fan belt, new starter (old Lucas starter in a box in the boot). All lights and gauges in operating order except the engine temperature gauge. The owner has a new temp sensor in hand but no one to install it. The spare tire is a Redline facsimile and in good shape. The convertible top, top frame and plastic window are in good shape and all snaps appear to be present. Convertible top boot cover present. No rips or tears evident. Interior seems to be in decent shape. The dash looks to be in great condition. Car comes with 3 keys.

Again, this TR6, while a good daily driver or as a solid base for further restoration is not without flaws. I had a lengthy conversation with the owner and we went over the car together. I will do my best to point out the flaws that we are aware of in order to assist you in making an intelligent bid. I've also tried to capture most of these in the images. The chrome bumpers are in fair shape. Both the front and rear bumpers have a small bump in them. The chrome drivers side outside rearview mirror is a bit pitted and is slightly loose. The driver's side window cranks down fine but is a bit sticky when rolling up. The paint has some blemishes and signs of edge oxidation. The frame is strong but showing some signs of oxidation (mostly on passenger side). The windscreen moulding is cracking a bit and the windscreen itself shows some distortion in the lower driver's side.

This TR6 comes with a new canvas car cover, a small box of miscellaneous TR6 lenses and other parts, a box or 4 TR6 wheel trim rings, as well as 3 spare TR6 seats. Apparently the bucket seats in the car are not original. Thank you very much for looking and good luck.

A deposit equal to 20% of the winning bid amount is required and must be received within 2 business days following the successful end of auction. Wire Transfer or Certified Cashier's Check sent via FedEx / USPS (or similar 2 day service) will be accepted. The balance will be due within 7 business days of auction end. The only acceptable method of final payment will be wire transfer, cash (in person) or certified bank or cashiers check. Both the vehicle and title will be released ONLY upon verification and clearance of funds, regardless of method of payment. Please be advised that clear title to this vehicle will be provided. All fees associated with vehicle transportation, shipping, transfer of ownership, taxes, registration, title and state inspection (if required) are the responsibility of the winning bidder.
