1967 Triumph TR4A IRS

Sold between 1965 and 1967, the Triumph TR4A was the final iteration of the TR4. The car featured an updated chassis and 75% of them had independent rear suspensions. Aimed at creating a better ride quality, the IRS set up was a successful addition to the car and saw use on the street as well as in road racing. The TR4A originally sold for around $2,500 USD and did well is the US and European marketplace, as the good handling characteristics and 105 HP engine made for good selling points.

This 1967 Triumph TR4A features a 10 year old restoration on what has been a reliable driver. The engine features twin SU carbs and the engine compartment has been nicely detailed. The car fires up effortlessly and has been a competent runner, both on the highway and the side roads in our limited time with the car. The car does not have the optional overdrive transmission, but is equipped with the optional spoked wheels.

Cosmetically, the restoration included new paint, undercarriage chassis detailing and a properly finished trunk. The interior received new seat covers, new carpeting and under carpet padding, a new crash pad, visors, and door cards. The car retains largely original trim on the exterior, and the bumpers were refinished at the time of the restoration.

The car has been recently serviced with all new fluids, and a tune up and is ready for the next owner. For the Triumph fan, or budding European car enthusiast, this car offers a great entry point into the classic car world.
