-“Native” is a North American Stock (NAS) 1977 FJ40 — a Colorado native — she is a fine example of an extensive and complete frame on restoration — exceptionally and tastefully restored to its original stock condition including 100% emission equipment as it rolled off the factory – zero leaks -- using OEM parts with a few updates for daily driving comfort and convenience: Unmodified with the exception ofaddition of Toyota power steering — all stock 1977 FJ40 TLC spent its whole life in Colorado (Aspen/Denver area) -- based on history, I am the 3rd owner - Native’s restoration began in early 2022 with a few pauses and finally completed in August 2024 — Native is currently garaged in Texas is started and/or driven weekly - Mileage shows 92,090 as of this posting — Clean Texas title in my name.

Restoration completed August 2024:

Complete exterior epoxy primer and single stage urethane paint July - August 2024 with all body parts and glass removed –every part that could be taken out was removed and either replaced or restored to its original condition -- new rear sill and quarter panels replaced as part of the restoration process — new aftermarket front bumper with dual tow shackles and OEM license plate bracket — new 2-inch receiver hitch flanked by new OEM rear bumperettes — new custom cut green tinted windshield -- individual body parts removed, inspected, prepped, sanded and primed (DTM epoxy) and sprayed in PPG single stage urethane original Toyota stock color 309 Freeborn – PPG single stage urethane original Toyota stock color T012, Cygnus White for the 5 x stock restored original OEM wheels and front bezel – Freeborn Red/Cygnus White is a timeless classic FJ40 color combination and highly desirable and sought after -- Native is powered by tuned, adjusted and refreshed original 2F engine with newly installed power steering kit (Toyota mini-truck PS gearbox and Saginaw pump), new spark plugs -- she runs strong and shifts smooth through all the gears -- strategically installed combination of OEM zinc coated and stainless steel hardware (bolts, nuts, flat and lock washers) throughout inside and outside (including areas not visible to the naked eye)-- all lights (restored front, new rear parking lights), switches, gauges and electronics function as designed (including headlight switch illumination and the blue high beam indicator) – new OEM fog light switch along with period/model correct amber fog lights installed -- Front and rear jump seat frames restored and seats recovered with new high marine grade seat covers – restored OEM seat belts (front and jump) — installed new Tuffy lockable security center console with stereo mount (installed and hidden from view a new Jensen stereo along with restored speaker located in factory glove box) – the original radio slot has a replica factory delete plate — OEM antenna in factory location — new OEM gear and transfer case shift knobs -- front and rear heaters removed and restored and now blows hot – restored 5 x Toyota stock OEM steel wheels and new OEM hub capsincluding the matching spare are mated with 5 x Centennial Dirt Commander MT 31x10.50R15 tires -- All new 5 x OEM Toyota badging (1 x front, 2 x apron and 2 x rear) – new Old Man Emu 2.5” suspension lift kit presents perfect stance with a well-balanced fit and function — replaced with factory period correct manual Warn locking hubs -- newly installed power steeringand the legendary 2F 4.2L mated with 4 speed transmission and 4WD transfer case functions well with great power and handles with a purpose — new intake and exhaust manifold along with manifold gasket-- complete new exhaust system -- fuel system received new polyethylene fuel tank, new OEM fuel pump, fuel filter – original carburetor rebuilt along with new distributor rotor, cap, plugs and wires -- engine idles at 650 and runs strong and shifts nicely through all gears – tie rod ends/drag link restored and serviced with new 5 x boots/seals — 2 x new front disc brakes and 2 x new rear drum brakes -- undercarriage sprayed with high end coating and in great shape -- frame and skid plates treated with POR15 – new OEM windshield fluid nozzle, new brake booster and master cylinder, new OEM clutch master cylinder – new smog air pump -- engine received fresh 20W-50 oil (2+ gallons), new air and oil filters — front and rear differentials, transfer case, transmission received fresh 80W-90 gear oil (2.5 gallons) — coolant and all other fluids flushed and topped off — headlights and other associated lights have bee upgraded with led bulbs.

Includes complete unrestored original hard top: fiberglass roof, both hard top sides with all good glass, two front doors and two rear doors – all hard top parts in restorable condition.
