1984 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60
This 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 has been with me, the second owner, since August1989 when I bought it with 94,125 miles freshly traded in at a local new car dealership here in Pittsburgh by a local celebrity hence for its age at the time the high miles. apparently he drove it all over the region doing special appearances. It was partially restored in 1994- the suspension was upgraded for off-roading at that time, which made it hard to drive and handle on the road, so it kind of sat around while life happened... which takes us to present day when I soon won't have the space to store it anymore. This is a great start on a project but it turns out I'm not going to do it and it's time for someone else to take over. I imagine I could make a good bit of money parting it out, but I can't bear to dismantle the old girl for sentimental reasons. The good: It's a Land Cruiser! Just look at it! truly one of the best off road vehicle I've owned except maybe the FJ40 I had before this which had no creature comforts as this does power steering, power brake, ac, and rear auxiliary heater .Low miles, decent interior, a ton of awesome period accessories including: Garvin Industries safari roof rack with custom steel mesh floor welded in for air flow, Specter brush guard (with KC lights) and suspension parts, Man a fre 2 1/2 inch lift leaf springs, custom dual exhaust, Lecarra steering wheel, and an array of off-road lights. 15x8 after-market deep-dish steelies. It does turn over and the fuel pump will draw fuel from a separate gas can. It rolls- the tires are old and wouldn't be road-safe. I've got a file full of service records, the original owner's manuals, the elusive original Toyota toolkit, jack, and a box full of spare parts including a high-flow high-performance catalytic converter I never got around to installing, some extra touch up spray paint cans, the original steering wheel, etc.The bad: the welded patches done in the 90's, specifically the rear wheel arches and rear rockers, are failing. The body condition has rust popping up- treated with clear Por-15 so we can preserve what's there without hiding anything. The worst area was where the hood meets the hinges and I did stiffen it up with braces as well as the hood it's self is crusty .The rear upper tailgate has a hole on the inner lip on the passenger side. Underneath has mostly surface rust with protective tin in the worst shape but the transfer case rock shield is in good condition. There were a couple of holes under the carpet on the front passenger and driver's side floor- I did patch that with steel pieces and epoxy to keep rodents out. The drivers side lower seat belt bracket is rotted away and no longer attached. please check photo link for a lot more photos of underside condition, only allowed 30 for the listing. the last picture, the one of it not lifted is of its condition right before I had rear wheel arches repaired and suspension up grades. The ugly: All the mechanicals- gas tank, fuel lines, hydraulics, clutch and brakes are going to need servicing. As I said above, this has been sitting outside on a gravel parking lot in Pennsylvania (parked- not getting salty!) for years. Most of the rust is as a result of years of seasonal condensation exposure from the inside out. The very rear of the frame on the lower end has some swelling but appears to be solid and salvageable. Rear bumper mounts are crusty. most everything else underneath appears to be surface rust which could be treated with an array of preservation products which I wanted to leave up to the next owner's discretion and not cover anything up. My plan had been to patch rough spots and rinoline in same color and use it offroad and not really worry about it getting dented or scratched etc.***For all of the above, please carefully look at the photos provided. and feel free to message me to request any additional photos or video (or if you're local to come look in person) you may need to determine the condition as of course this is being sold as-is.***More photos are here: https://photos.google.com/u/2/share/AF1QipPouF0GmeGnLqybgARA27OxXe0xlHokwmva3Rk1QlImwbUT980Hz-r3DW6Bs2xQ2A?pli=1&key=bWlzVDlzVFRVa2doTlV6MG5icG5ZeThUZE9pRzdR
