I grew up with Land Cruisers, my first car was a 1970 FJ55 Iron Pig named Nairobi and I never got a speeding ticket in the rig lol. Since then I have owned more than 65 cruiser models and at this point in life I sure wish I had kept a couple.

This FJ40 was found by a friend of mine on the side of the road in Nebraska. Back in the day it was a display in a Denver CO Bass Pro Shop (see last picture) which may very well be why the drive train was removed. I try to to save every Land Cruiser I can get my hands on as they are amazing iconic vehicles and every day there are less of them in existence. This 40 has a very nice frame and original running gear. The springs still have a lot of arch, uncut fenders, correct seats, rims, steering etc. If I were going to make a driver out of this rig I would leave it striped/patined, use only old school correct parts etc as it looks great sitting in my yard.

Floor board under the driver is the worst but both sides are rusty. The rest of the tub is quite decent, fenders, hood, bib are great. Someone back in the day got tired of the rattling and welded the tool box to the seat frame lol. It is what it is, I would love to see someone put this rig back on the road or trail.
