Description:

1985 Toyota 1/2 Ton Pickup

I bought my beloved truck what I call 'tater in 2015. It's my 2nd 4 wheel drive 1985 Toyota.
'tater is the Unicorn of Toyota trucks - being the one year they made a fuel injected 4x4 solid front axle truck.
I started restoring 'tater. I believe its value will go up because it is so collectible.
Sadly, my body shop has exhausted the budget I have allocated.
So...up for sale is my (161K miles) relatively straight truck.
The good:
1) Rebuilt engine. It purrs. I have receipts and about 5K miles on it.
2) Replaced clutch and flywheel and radiator with about 5K miles (done with engine rebuild).
3) AWESOME leather Monaco seats
4) AWESOME leather Dino Steering wheel
5) Headliner looks like it's a few years old not a few decades
6) Dash is crack free
7) 'tater can sit for months at a time and will fire right up!
8) Frame is solid and has just been painted
9) 4x4 is amazing and smooth
10) Doors and rockers are virtually rust free
11) Prior owner was from Wichita and I was told 'tater spent a lot of its time on a farm
12) New windshield and all new stock Toyota OEM windshield trim molding (molding alone was like $500.00)
13) New fuel injectors and plugs in last few months - have receipts
14) New front calipers and brake lines in last few months - have receipts15) New non-stock exhaust after bed off pictures were taken16) I have the last 10 years of maintenance in a 3 ring binder
The average:
1) 'tater is sporting oversized wheels/tires - which I gotta say I love the look and dune buggy style ride but gas mileage is compromised
2) Owner before me replaced the rear bumper with the shown aluminum one. It's plenty solid but I have conflicting opinions as to whether it's stock.
3) Doors need to be painted and I'd replace their gaskets too.
The bad:
1) Stereo and door speakers (you can have them with purchase) were removed to clean carpet and treat cab floor
2) Temperature gauge shows medium even when cold
3) It actually rides fine, but I'd replace the shocks all around
4) Leaf spring bushings and bumper stops should be replaced too
5) While 'tater was born with AC, I've never had it working
6) Inner and outer mud flaps are off and reworked/remade (you get them with purchase) . This actually allows for a easier frame inspection though.
I'd like to get the $12,500.00 I'm asking. However it is OBO so lmk what you're thinking...
I realize not everyone will want to put the finishing touches on the extensive restoration that has already been done, but if I don't get pretty close to my asking price I may revisit keeping ol 'tater...
Thanks and lmk if you have any questions.
