1983 was the final year for the FJ40 in the United States. The non-USA version was continued until 1984 but was considerably less evolved than the USA models.

This Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser is one of only an estimated 300 examples imported to the United States for the final year in 1983. It was acquired by the current owner in 2005 and then treated to a restoration. Many of the mechanical components were rebuilt or replaced. The front and rear bumperettes were replaced, a Warn winch was installed, and BFGoodrich tires were fitted. The interior was restored and a new headliner and new seat covers.
