1989 Toyota Pickup
Original owners purchased truck to carry their trash cans to the end of their private lane where the trash man picked up, and to run occasional local errands. Every service reciept/ record since new is in my possession. Owners stopped using the truck sometime in 2019-2020, removed it from their garage and parked it on their paved driveway where it sat untouched until recently. When I got it it had a frozen front brake, dead battery, empty fuel tank and was filthy and sun faded/ oxidized.I have done the following:New batteryRebuild carbFlush tank, new fuel filter, added fuel treatmentNew front brake calipers/ padsClean, compound, wax.Oil Change.Replaced dome light plastic cover.
There is a blinker bulb out that I will try to replace and plan to put new wiper blades on. Dome light only comes on with interior switch, not when the door opens. I probably will not mess with it. Other than that, everything works, truck could probably use a tuneup and carb tune.I'm a home builder, not a mechanic.
This is not a show truck but it could be with little effort. there are scratches and one dent passenger side bed from owners backing into it. There is no paint damage at the dent and could probably be popped out. The split in the vinyl seat is probably a result of sitting in the sun for a couple of years. Other than the split, the interior is immacculate. I have made no attempt to fix/ repair these items because I want to represent accurately that this is an un-molested/ unrestored low mileage original. I have not removed/ looked under the bed liner, which was installed when the truck was new. There is ZERO rust on any body panel and only some slight surface rust on the undercarriage. I have not touched or even cleaned any part of the undercarriage.
Tires look great, have only 10,000 miles on them but were installed in 2002 (have the reciept) and are showing signs of age cracking and I believe have flat spots from sitting unmoved. That being said, I've been driving it around town with no issues but believe new tires should be installed. Spare tire and jack don't look like they have ever been touched. Mileage will go up by auction end.
I encourage anyone who is considering buying this truck to make arrangements to come look at it.Truck is not for sale locally.Auction winner must contact me and pay a $500 deposit within 24 hours of auction end or I will relist or offer to next highest bidder. I am very easy to deal with as long as there is communication.Payment/ transfer arrangements must be made within 48 hours of auction close. Cash only unless discussed with me prior. Any payment other than cash, if I agree to it, will have to clear my bank prior to transfer.I'm happy to assist loading with buyer provided shipper. I would not hesitate to drive this truck anywhere.I will try to answer questions promptly but evenings are typical due to work.Good luck!
