Description: Up for sale is my beloved 1989 Toyota Pickup SR5 Extra cab 2WD with V6, manual transmission and matching camper shell. My father and I have been the only the two owners of this truck and it was purchased new in 1989 from Riverside Toyota in Southern California. The truck has spent 14 years in California and 20 years in Atlanta area. The frame and body are solid, with only minor surface rust on parts of the underside, otherwise this pickup has never seen a harsh winter and both the engine and transmission still work great.
This classic little pickup has 227,000 miles and has been well cared for by our family over the years. Engine and transmission run well. The truck is equipped with power steering, nice cold factory-installed A/C, disc brakes in front and drums in back. Body paint is in good condition and original, with some fading on the back and sides from 34 years of wear and tear, some clearcoat failure on the hood, and clearcoat failure on most of the roof of the camper shell. Paint chips along front of hood, small paint scratches and various minor dents on body, larger dent on rear bottom left just behind rear tire. Interior in great condition, with some minor fading of dash right along window, small tear on drivers side seat. Pictures capture all these mentioned flaws.
Key historical maintenance information includes: I just replaced the engine valve cover gaskets recently so the engine doesn’t leak any oil. Steering gearbox was just rebuilt so steering is nice and tight. The steering pump and alternator were also just replaced with newly rebuilt ones. The engine head gaskets were replaced back in the mid-1990s under the big Toyota recall for this 3VZE V6 engine, so no worries about over-heating. Spark plugs, distributor cap/rotor and 02 sensor replaced at 215,000 miles; new A/C compressor/condenser/dryer replaced and converted to R134 at 211,000 miles; rear differential bearing replaced at 177,000 miles; water pump and timing belt replaced at 175,000 miles; clutch, brake pads, windshield replaced at 156,000 miles.
